Looks good...but ...my concern is game play. Is there a race going on...some sort of objective??? It kinda looks like KZ with all the atmospheric stuff going on BUT it never stops. Pacing is gonna be critical in a game like this.
I've seen something like this before but the game play is what really stands out...take a look...
The point of this video is not to demonstrate the objective but all the other aspects of the game. I think the developers are well aware of what they need to do to make this game a success.
Objective? I'll clarify the objective, you drive from point A to point B first one to point B wins. It's a racing game!
It's pre-alpha and looks great already. (Y)
Are you not familiar with how racing works InTheKnow? What more objective do you need? and Pacing? What you on about, it's hardly a story driven action game is it? You race, you win, you destroy some other dudes on the way, thats all we need.
@PSfan100...so motorstorm goes from point " A " to point " B "...I see. If that's all is does it won't sell. You will have seen everything in one race and that...sherlock, is my POINT.
@steven...Pacing, my young friend is something you do to add expectation to the game. The way it looks now, you will have seen everything this game has to offer after one race. It's like KZ 2/3...if you have a hurricane going on around constantly, it loses it's effect...do you get it yet. But, if you add the destructive, atmospheric conditions at different times through out the race and game, that PACING would have a greater effect on the gamer. Motorstorm, as it stands now, is like watching explosions and buildings fall all day long...gets boring fast.
@Longrod..."The point of this video is not to demonstrate the objective but all the other aspects of the game "...what other aspects of the game, it shows ONE thing...O_o
Here's a game with all of the above...take a look...
Sick. This is one of the games that makes me want a 3DTV (KZ3 being the other). Looks intense. I'm not a fan of racing games, but I can certainly spot a star when one is shining, and this is one of them.
Liar You were dissing MotorStorm not too long ago. You lying, trolling fanboy. Do the world a favor and get out of the PS3 section. Don't you have better things to do on your 360 or something? You got games right?
If you like Pacific Rift better then go play Pacific Rift. If you like the desert better then go play the first one. If you like apocalyptic environments then get the 3rd one.
IMO Apocalypse looks like a ton of fun. All the Motorstorm games are fun.
Another video of straight driving, no real driving skills needed, it all seems that the game is made to show the effects of buildings falling and impress instead of surprise with the track...
Its really starting to worry me, this is nothing like the great tracks of Motorstorm 2 - Pacific Rift with the great crashes and real driving skills needed. Lets hope these worries won't become reality in the final game. If so, I'm sticking with MS2.
This video is of the game in a pre alpha state and is the same track we've seen since the very beginning.
If you start to see more tracks in versions of the game which are closer to completion which suffer from the same thing then you may have a need to worry.
Based on the same video that has been seen at pretty much every Motorstorm article though, those worries should be easily allayed.
Either you've been living under a rock and don't realize that this is the SAME track they've been showing since E3, or you're just a pessimistic jackass.
What was the point of that?, it looked like a total mess. Cars climbing over each other, buildings falling down making mess on top of all the other mess.
It's a cluster fuck. And the gameplay looks terrible. It's like a broken version of twisted metal.
I like how MS:A is shaping up. But I would love to see more. I would like for instance to see the building jumping they were talking about. I don't mind them changing the setting to urban jungle as long as the tracks are interesting and varied. Driving through a city that is coming apart at the seams sounds epic to me. I still wonder if the damaged battleship in the loading screen is a track.
i wish they'd get footage of people who can actually play these damn games... . . ...dude didn't use his boost whatsoever. otherwise, i'm REALLY looking forward to this game!!
It's shaping up well But they gotta fix the timing of those crashing objects and slow them down. It'll take a lot of rigging, but i want to see the separate sections of each building buckle and break.
Great level design though, and the action is top-notch. I've never seen a crazier racing game.
Wow it looks like there aren't many (if any) 5 second slow mo crashes. Wise removal. Other than that it looks ok. I personally preferred a natural environment as opposed to this.

The difference in these two games is in the game play and pacing...Motorstorm has the graphics down, just needs to work on making a game out of it.
What kind of a weird downlplay is that? Seriously look at this game, it looks insane.

Right now MA looks like a tech demo.

it looks great. same old level though -__-
still, its looking VERY interesting. Can't wait for more stuff =D
I love you.
I liked the jungles, water, volcanoes in Pacific Rift better. IMO this looks MEH! like a step backwards.
maybe it is because we have only seen the same level over and over and over...
IMO Apocalypse looks like a ton of fun. All the Motorstorm games are fun.
1st spin and excuse.
Whats a n??
1 day old and already trolling PS3 articles.
wow so sad =P love it
*ignore*
Get a life...
Edit: Honestly, I'm just glad you guys knew what "redundant" meant.
Uncalled for? Yes.
Necessary? Entirely.
If you laughed you have to give SexyPrawn a bubble.... it's the rules.
Can't wait to get my hands on this one!

did they say the environment changes randomly? or is all set pieces?
