VGC writes, "Adventure gamers are a hardy but difficult-to-please breed. We want our puzzles to be logical, our stories to be internally consistant, and once we manage to overcome everything the designers see fit to throw at us we would like the ending to be conclusive. And honestly, this isn’t very much to ask when you consider that the major groundwork of coming up with the “next best thing” has already been laid for you by someone else. This is why “Quest For Karma” is so irritating: despite all that had come before it, the developers ignored what made a game like “Myst” good in favor of sticking a bunch of disjointed puzzles into a bunch of random rooms and tried to tie it all together by claiming the whole thing is based on an obscure Chinese legend."
