In the October issue of the Game Developers Magazine writers Motomu Toriyama and Akihiko Maeda share an unique look back at the development of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII.
As I played through this game, I kinda noticed how much of "development hell" it must have been through. Completely linear levels for the first 10-13 hours with nothing but cutscenes of whining characters and running away. It almost felt like S-E had no choice but to do this as they had no time left for a coherent game and that 5 years in the making comes with huge debts in terms of cash that need filling.
