Equality In Gaming…Unless You’re A Girl

The University of Gothenberg recently released the results of a study on the social aspects of online gaming. Researchers Camilla Olsson and Jonas Linderoth studied how there is a lot of boundary crossing evident in online gaming that is not generally seen in social activities. In other words, fellow gamers were treated with respect that was based almost solely on their gameplay skills.....Factors that would often limit these friendships from forming (such as race or poverty) are simply not important.Senior Lecturer Jonas Linderoth did note one glaring exception to this rule: gender.
