Naughty Dog's Jason Rubin: Console Prices 'Out Of Hand', Hampering Launches

In an in-depth new interview posted on Gamasutra today, former Naughty Dog co-founder Jason Rubin has been discussing the state of the game biz, claiming that, with the exception of Nintendo, game console makers "have gotten caught up in the technology", with prices "a little bit out of hand" for the end user, suggesting: "I don't think it's about technology. It's about entertainment."

I find the consoles priced within a reasonable range for what they can each offer with their different technologies. IMO without consoles to play games on for 5-6 years we would probally have to buy a PC every 2 years at 3-4 times the cost to keep playing current gen games.

very true indeed.... still... when you put in perspective and take inflation into account, consoles may actually be cheaper. its not as bad as neo geo when u really think about it....
