The big news last week was that Gears of War 3 will be launched with dedicated servers for multiplayer to, hopefully, finally put an end to the infamous host shotgun and alleviate the lag that many of us have experienced.
But in an interesting update Epic games have confirmed this morning that Gears of War 2 has actually been running off dedicated servers since title update 6 for certain individuals.

Also it's nice to see they are going to use Dedicated Servers for Gears 3, the host advantage was horrible in some games where everyone has 8 kills and some guy has 40... mmmmh I wonder who was the host.
