Half Life 2: Orange Box will arrive a few weeks later on PS3

Developer Valve confirmed the previously rumored October release at Games Convention 2007. Valve confirmed that the PC and Xbox 360 versions will hit retail shelves on October 10 in America and October 12 in Europe. The Playstation 3 version, unfortunately, will arrive a 'few weeks later'.

This news comes forth out of an preview from IGN, in which it says that the PS3 version will arrive a few weeks later than its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts. A reason for this short delay was not given. So Playstation 3 owners will have to wait a little longer to play the Half Life 2: Orange Box, which contains Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode 1 & 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal.

"You won't have to wait long to play with all the goodies in the Orange Box; it's due to ship on PC and Xbox 360 on October 10th in North America and October 12th in Europe, with the PS3 version to follow a few weeks later."

Whoever gets this on a console is missing out on alot.

Get Steam, and get the Valve Pack when episode 2 comes out.

It'll be the best 90 or so bucks you ever spent in your life.

Half-Life 2 is worth upgrading your PC for.

Come on, the same reason they all state "we have been programming on 360 longer than PS3"
Valve are custom to making games on PC architecture, making it on the PS3 architecture would be very new for them.

The PC and X360 version is developed by Valve while the PS3 version is developed by a publisher's internal studio. This means that the PS3 team is trying to copy Valves progress as quickly as possible but there has to be some delay.
The info is form an interview posted here some time ago.

BTW: Orange Box is actually five games at a price of one:
Half Life 2
Half Life 2: Episode One
Half Life 2: Episode Two
Team Fortres 2
Portal

so disappointed PS3 users give it a try :P

I hate keyboard and mouse-play, 360 controller is best for FPS.

what are you gonna be using on the battlefield, a trigger or the left click on a mouse. 360 Controllers are better suited for combat, but then there are the occasional annoying nerds who are gods at keyboard and mouse and RUIN the game for everyone, that's why I don't play online with PC.

Yeah, the 360 is THE BEST FPS controller...if you want to get yourself killed.

Have you seen the stats of PC gamers vs. Xbox 360 gamers on Live? It's not pretty dude...
