Watch the GT5 Prologue Cockpit View in action.
GT5 is by far the most photorealistic game I've ever since. THIS is real next-gen racing.
I love Forza 2, but I'll give credit where it is due. This c0ckpit view is damn impressive. BUT... (now don't freak out) It's not THAT much better than the PGR C0CKPIT view on the Xbox360... If you don't believe me, just check out the video of it here http://www.gamersyde.com/ne... (notice the forum forbid me from typing C0CK... lol,, had to use a zero) Now... WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON WITH THE NEW POP-UP ADS ON N4G!!!?? AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO WANTS TO SCREAM EVERY TIME ANOTHER G*DDAMNED ADVERTISEMENT INTERCEPTS MY MOUSE POINTER!?? I know a web site has to make money somehow, but this is really crossing the line and making the site seem as f*cked up as a CRACK, or PORN site
Still no damage to the cars? :( Regardless GT5 is still the best
Come on man, credit where credit is due...This game is looking pretty solid. I've got PGR3 and Forza 2 and they are pretty decent, but GT5 is looking very, very good. As far as popups are concerned, go get Firefox and add the Ad Block Plus plugin. It will kill about 98% of pop ups, banners, scrollers, flash ads, and damn near every other annoying type of advertisement that appears on pretty much every website you visit.
best c0ckpit view i have ever seen in my life Even looks better than my own car lol
Good one. This is beyond photorealistic. It's light years ahead of any other racing game in terms of graphics.
MK RED, You're REALLY trying hard to hype this thing, and I admit it looks good. But "Light years" ahead of anything else?? No Project Gotham Racing 3 had a fantastic C0CKPIT view nearly 2 years ago. The interior of the cars displayed real time shadows and self shadows, the windows displayed dirt and fantastic sun glare. I'm assuming you've never experienced it for yourself, because you would have never said something as ridiculous as you did regarding the new GT5 video. I'm excited for GT5, but I'm not blinded by its UB3R 1337n355!!!! It will be an awesome racing sim, but nothing about this clip is light years ahead of some other racing games that are already out there.
" This is beyond photorealistic" This looks good by the way..it does not need an Article Mascot..
let me tell you what is beyond photorealistic, its Juiced, also its beyond hope
The lighting going over the dash looks fantastic. Showing the hands changing gears or hard turns would be even better and add to an already stunning looking game.
But i'm just waiting for some joker to come in here and say something stupid like "Forza 2" looks better or "just wait till Forza 3" or something.......
forza 2 look better and wait for forza 3 :P lol

I'm not into racing games at all but that looks damn good.
Very smooth gameplay!! GT5 Prologue and Gran Turismo 5, a no brainer baby!
I look forward to comparisons. GT5 is a nice looking game but we will have to wait and see.
I wanna see a ferrari wraped around a freaking telephone pole. Or at least a Suzuki Cappuccino crashing into a brick wall. That was the weakest car ever. Edit: Okay by weakest I meant crappiest slow @$$ pos.
There is a car in Europe called the "Trabant" and it was practically made out of paper! Don't belive me?? You can look it up!
JUSTaGAME I completly agree with you them damn pops piss me off
N4G is really screwing it's users over by whoring the site out to these new ads. Very disappointing.
use firefox and get the adblock plugin. i have yet to see a pop-up ad.
Go one better than Firefox---get Opera! Its pop-up blocker is built in; no need to download and install plug-ins. http://www.opera.com/
the game looks freakin realistic !!!!!!!!!!
wohoo, that is amazing!!!
Looks very nice. Impressed. But as usually I will give some constructive critisism. (too bad fanboys will see it that way). Driver drives like my grand mom. Never let go the steering wheel not even to change gears (mybe automatic car) collion does not feel real. The guy playing should of turn his head around (if capability available) ala PGR3 and look down, left and right inside of the c0ckpit. Never the less this game will made.
idiots.. cars have flappy paddle gear change just under the steering wheels, just look inside any new ferrari and ull notice most are not using gear sticks.
idiots.. "cars have flappy paddle gear change just under the steering wheels" did you see the guy using the flappy paddle gear once during this video? and by the way flappy paddle are not available for all cars...
I`m disappointed they didn`t add damage to GT5 though, i think that could make the game more realistic, as it`s supposed to be the most realistic car simulator around. With that said, i`m more the Burnout-type (which has spectacular damage, but less realism), so i`m sure GT-fans will be happy with the footage anyway.
The game is clearly coming along nicely and is poised to set the new standard in Racing. Obviously we won't know much about the whole aspect of handling and physics until people get their hands on the game but it does look extremely promising at this point. I'm wondering if they have the NES like graphics in the rear view mirror as a developer's joke at this point. Clearly the hardware can handle it but all previous (including this one) have really block rear-view mirror scenese. I guess it's a placeholder and will be something they work on late in the game's development as it really isn't that important.
Haha C0CK!? I'm sold!
Nice. Very impressive. Nicr than PGR 3. PGR 4 is not out yet. Forza 2 drives better in my opinion. But, I have only played the demo on PS3, so we will see. Looks better than anything to date. This one is a no brainer, on PS3 it is THE racing game to get.
I've seen a few videos of GT5 now. Yesterday, i was in the car going home and i was looking at the traffic and stuff and comparing it to a GT5. And i was thinking, you know, it's not even that far off. A few years back, i never would've believed a game could look so real, yet it really does. It won't be soon until games get scenery, people and atmosphere spot-on and when they do, consoles will hit the ultimate
GT 5 is worth a wait. Makes Forza an ant.
Though I admit GT5 is looking stunning at this point and is certainly poised to set the bar higher yet, calling Forza 2 an Ant is a bit ridiculous. It is an exceptionally well made game and physics engine is top notch. If you actually played it without your fanboy goggles, you'd say the same... Edit -- @ DJ -- reread my comment. It says "certainly poised to set the bar higher yet" What part of that is unclear? My point is Forza 2 is no "Ant" in comparison. F2 is a great game but certainly can be bested. "Ant" is a bit strong, don't you think?
Just comparing screenshots of GT5 Prologue and Forza 2 show an enormous difference in graphical fidelity. In motion, it becomes obvious that GT5 prologue is superior.
No shadow in the c0ckpit from driving under the bridge?
And this is just the Prologue...
Ive got pgr3 with these type of cokpit view, lets see the pitstop in action. IM OUT...///"""
it's no where near as clear and quick as the other in car footage that was captured yesterday, there equipment sucks, i've had to pull up the link to many times to a better version but if someone asks then i will i suppose...
Looks amazing. I haven't enjoyed the last 2 GT games as much as 1 and 2 - maybe this one will bring me back.
Guys. There has been a lot of great car games over my years of gaming from wrec Le mans on the spectrum to F1GP on the mighty Amiga (R.I.P). With modern processing power we really are lucky and I have no bones about any particular format. - they all offer something and its the racing that is important. The current 360 and PS3 will both offer great games that make use of each systems hardware strengths. I'm a big fan of Toca 3,PGR3,GTR, Forza and Gran Turismo. If you want to see a c0ckpit driving view done well then take an AC Cobra out for a spin in Test Drive Unlimited on the 360. What a fine game. The graphics may be a bit lacking vs GT5 or PGR but the attention to detail and the way you can look around the car is great. And the arm moves to change gear which in a nice sounding V8 with no roof makes it nice just to cruise. I have no doubt that GT5 will push the bar further as will PGR4. We shouldn't flame another game or system just for the hell of it - just enjoy it and buy both if possible. IMO the biggest thing to hit racers in the last 2 years is online. Computer cars just don't cut it and the sense of pride running a German off the road in Toca 3 is priceless (nothing against em just they are a competitive lot just like us Brits).
PGR3,4, and all the other XBOX junk = eats CRAP. GT Series = Untouchable, and ALWAYS raises the bar to where no other developer can touch. XBOTS drink my man juice.....AAHAHAHHAHHHA
As far as lighting and colour palette is concerned GT owns, but the gameplay has always been poor as hell. Give GTR (PC) a ride with a proper wheel and you'll see what I mean. I sure hope they get it together with GT5 though, but I doubt they will.
I saw some dynamic lighting in c0ckpit and some sweet detail. Its looking great.
this game really makes my driving demon tingle. i just can't wait. ps.posting online challenge, if you can beat me then that don't mean a thing, cause I'm a bad driver.
It'll be awesome if they can make driving stick realistc also.
This game is really going to blow the competition away once it finally come-out next year. The graphics is simply going to the benchmark that everyone has to follow, and from the looks of this video in-game preview the physics would be as phenomenal. Congratulations again to Kazunori Yamauchi-san and the Sony/Polyphony group. This is going to be the most eagerly anticipated driving/racing simulator.
