Killzone 2's lead visual designer talks about the inspirations behind the Helghast and what the PS3's power means for their team.
I thought it was a pretty interesting read. It covered topics such as the change in main character for the sake of Killzone 2's art style. And the similarities between Killzone and Jin-Roh were actually asked in an interview for once. Check back in tomorrow for the next addition to the interview. Hopefully you guys don't try and beat me to it.
killzone 2 "THE TOP OF GAMING" AIZEN SAMA
"This is living."
-- "When we realized that our results came very close to the E3 05 trailer, we knew we were on the right track. Yes, we were definitely nervous, but we also had a lot of confidence. I think the impact on the public was even greater than we expected, which is good--not just because it means we’re doing it right, but also because there’s still a lot we have in store for them." -- W O W
I love it when I hear something like that. What a tease. I hope Guerilla Games has more to show us from at Lepzeig. That's if they're even presenting anything. Man, I can't wait any longer for this game. GOTY 2008 anyone? I have a feeling even the games coming in the latter of 2008 will be trumped by Killzone 2. But even then, I'm still hoping and anticipating an even bigger jump in overall gameplay and graphics for games announced and maybe even released next year. Seems just right with all the time to get to know the systems by then. Again though, Killzone 2 might just as well be one of those games to set that bar. By then, it'll be like that point in the PS2's lifecycle where a higher and more true level for gaming was established. This is just the start. Just as this is just the start for the Killzone franchise. I hope to see it stick around for a couple more installments. I could see the series ending as one of the first PS4 games released. I don't even want to imagine what those games will be like since that's like 9 more years from now. Dang, this was a bad idea writing this. I'm so wired now and I need to get some sleep. Anyways, be on the lookout for Part 2 of this interview tomorrow on N4G. Good night.
Great find. I love anything related to developers. Keep it coming.
Killzone 2 is going to blow anything on its path. Can't wait till i see the game finished, it's going to look so damn good that i will have to go the f!king bathroom. A BAY BAY KZ2 is the [email protected] A BAY BAY!
After the mediocre lair, and warhawk reviews, and the lukewarm ports this could be the silver cloud lining.I'm thinking that after haze, and ut3 that the ps3 games should get progressively better.
Mediocre Lair, Warhawk reviews, and lukewarm ports? According to who? You be the one to judge. Not some stiff who's job is to expose the negatives and downplay the positives in comparison. Lair mediocre? From what I've heard, that just may be the truth to some extent. But I wouldn't know that for sure unless I see for myself. I'll rent it first. Warhawk's reviews? A load of BS. I have seen enough gameplay videos to critique it myself. And it deserves much more than it is given. It is a sure purchase for me. Lukewarm ports? Not necessarily, there's enough better ones to even out the bad ones. Oblivion for example. Some can argue that others look better regardless. Those aren't something to make a big deal about now when games like Haze and UT3 will have PS3 as lead-platform. Future companies/titles will follow this trend and create/be created with PS3 as the lead-platform. Whichever way you look at something like that, it's just considered an easier process all in all. I guess you can consider Killzone 2 a saviour. I like to see it as the game that can truly say to others, "Get on my level". I don't like to see it as the saviour of the PS3, only because I don't care about software and hardware sales. Why should I? I don't profit from it. Why should any of you care. Not to point fingers or anything, but does it sound right if an avid Gameboy Pokemon lover went up to a hardcore Gears of War player and said, "Hah, there's no way your game will sell more than mine". That's more of an extreme example but it gets the point across. The fact is that sales are irrelevant if the game you are playing says enough by its quality. And the point is that, YOU ARE A GAMER. Your job isn't to follow the sales of your game. It's to enjoy your game. That's all. Be happy with that. Well, that's my two cents at least. Okay now, while some of you let that sink in (if you even cared to read that ridiculously long novel), I am gonna go pre-order the retail version of Warhawk if I still can.
killzone will be EPIC.
Killzone should have be developed by EPIC......or Infinity Ward. Damn, CoD4 is da bomb.
KZ2 will be like a f!king disease.
