Zombiegamer Gran Turismo 5: hands-on impressions

ZG writes:
One of the biggest advantages of being in Johannesburg this past weekend was that Gran Turismo 5 was playable at rAge 2010. Understandably the various steering wheel/seat/pedal pods sampling the upcoming GT5 were hard to get to. I did manage to get a few laps in a Mercedes SLR. I wanted to see what the physics were like, the most important aspect of a simulator. Did I find them to my taste? Hell yeah. (Gran Turismo 5, PS3, rAge 2010)

From article
Gran Turismo 5 looks stunning! Graphics are polished as are the menus and other aesthetics. Sound is sublime, realistic and from my car knowledge – accurate.

Yeah
GT5 looks awesome. Anyone who love racing sims haven't played a sim til the release of GT5. Don't matter if you're an alien, a rock, brain dead, or even a 360 fanboy, you need to play GT5 if you want the best experience.

anybody knows if Standard Cars have cockpit view? I found a couple of vids that seems to show that SD cars have it but there are so many people telling me that I am wrong and I just can't find an official confirmation about it.

Are there or not cockpit view for SD Cars in GT5?

As far as I know all of the cars in GT5 have a cockpit view, the premium models just have more details.
BenCrazy424  +   1612d ago
No, only the premium cars have cockpit views from what I've heard. I wish all of them were but the others are going to have the same view as the cars did in gt4. But who knows, they could of added them in the final stretch of making the game and tricked every video game news site. Either way it won't be a long wait till you find out.

There's lots of conflicting beliefs held by people here, but Ben is correct. Standard cars will in no way feature a cockpit view.

And honestly it's better than having generic cockpits. Better to not do it at all than do it in a half-assed manner that destroys the realism. PD made the right choice here.

I cant believe that most of the cars in GT5 wont have a cockpit view when "all" of the cars in GT Prologue did.

It's been confirmed by Kaz himself
Why half of all N4G users have missed this information is beyond me. Maybe people should smarten up and actually read for once instead of assuming things. Because it really speaks about you people if you are still trying to argue with me over something that has been 100% confirmed.

http://www.gtplanet.net/gam...

"As we were the first session and had a slight overrun, Kazunori couldn’t take many questions. However, he was able to confirm that the number of unique courses available in the game is “more than 70″ – with the added scope of online Course Maker circuits – and that despite their best efforts to respond to criticism about standard car interiors, they were not able to implement cockpit camera (even one similar to GTPSP’s) in GT5 – a source of some disappointment to Kazunori, who is never happy to let down his fans and is probably his own biggest critic."

That sucks, I am super happy that I picked up GT for my PSP now though, as it will provide a garage full of premium models on day one.

Would have been nice if the author had taken the time to find some current photos instead of Prologue screen shots, lame.
Si-Fly  +   1612d ago
2 disagrees wow! Everyone is just reading the title for this article and posting without hitting the link or something because those screen shots are from Prologue!!

I was kinda hoping as the guy had been playing GT5 he might have actually snapped some new screens for us to drool over, but you geeks are obviously happy with 3 year old Prologue shots so I guess he didn't have to bother.

I bid on the low end wheel yesterday ( knowing that if it works well I will probably turn around sell it and get a g27) hell I may even save and try to buy a gameseat to mount the wheel to
so yeah a wheel may be on it's way tommrow and the game is preordered I can see spending at least 60+ on dlc down the line ( gotta support the next installment)

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a zombie mode in this game, there's pretty much everything else, infact there's so much stuff a year from now someone will discover a new mode and declare it an easter egg :P
Si-Fly  +   1612d ago
Haven't you heard, there's an unlockable Cadburys creme egg with wheels. It's a premium vehicle with a suitably gooey interior view.
