Good, I will actually pick up the PS3 version of this game.

larry0076085d ago

the difference has started to show up.

PS3 is showing its mettle and choking the low powered x360

FFVIIFan6085d ago

UT3, which is looking to be the best looking game visually yet on any system, also supports bots with varing levels of AI, and online play, will be running at 60 FPS, EA has no excuss. Kudos for Epic, poo on EA.

ngg123456085d ago

They try to sell to a mass market by making multi plat games. Look at what they are doing with fifa, because PS3 is doing better then xbox 360 in japan and europe, they are paying more attention to the development for the ps3 version, rather than the xbox 360 version. I agree, I don't like them as a business, but they have always done this forever. Look at what they are doing to wii games.

FFVIIFan6085d ago

I just don't like their standards.

"UT3, which is looking to be the best looking game visually yet on any system"

LOL!

Low poly overly normalmapped bald space marines in shiny armor! Oh god...

UE3 is a pathetic joke of an engine.

Killzone 2 is an entire generation ahead of this latest crappy effort from the crappy x86 pc devs at Epic.

But the fact is still, that EA most likely don't KNOW how to develop great games for the PS3, and because of that, we're most likely gonna end up with an x360 game that plays just as good as the PS3 version anyways. At least with this years games.

This game is going to be huge, and so much fun.
60 fps and mouse and keys? Community created maps and mods? Forget about it! This is awesome!

unsunghero286085d ago

PC quality for console price.

If it's that simple then this will be a great deal.

Me6085d ago

The game will be 30 FPS locked. Confirmed by Mark Rein. Yes it's really him and the game will still be great.

http://www.evilavatar.com/f...

"I'm saying the demo they saw could have been 60 fps. We have not locked frame rate yet so right now it depends on things like what level they were running and how many bots they put in, what mutators they were running, etc. When we get it finished and locked down it should run at 30 fps all the time"

larry0076085d ago (Edited 6085d ago )

MARK REIGN confirmed that ps3 version would be 720p but it might run at 60/30fps depending on the miminum spec they wanted the game to be set for the PC version

UT3 will run at 60FPS at 720p

Tech Focus - Motion Blur: Is It Good For Gaming Graphics?

Opinion is divided on this one for sure! Is motion blur good for gaming? Why do developers include it?

TheOptimist2125d ago

I hate any game that has motion blur and the first thing I do is switch off the motion blur in games. It just makes me nauseous.

XentaJones2124d ago

motion blur makes me sick... so its off.

OpenGL2124d ago

I agree with Alex here, many implementations are terrible but when it is done right it improves the experience.

TheSplooge2124d ago

I always turn it off. Along with depth of field.

Those plus vignetting, chromatic aberration, and film grain.

Let’s be Honest, DOOM Looks like the Best First Person Shooter We’ve Seen in Ages

Alex from GamersFTW writes:

“In all seriousness though, I feel like DOOM’s success will be measured by how much the game has to offer. Graphically it’s looking spectacular, and I’m sure the latest multiplayer trailer caught all of our attention. Personally, the game is beginning to remind me of those late nights playing Unreal Tournament 3, which is totally a good thing. This, in addition to the promise of user-generated content, is making DOOM look like the best first-person shooter I’ve seen in ages.”

The campaign looks brilliant, like a true nostalgia trip to the original DOOM titles of old! The multiplayer equally looks like a trip down memory lane to fast-paced and frantic arena games a-la Quake, and honestly the MP REALLY makes me want to the get game at launch to capitalise on the hype. Problem is I'm not overly fussed with multiplayer typically in games, they can get weary after a while, and buying a game solely for its MP is risky - especially on console - as it's heavily dependant on the community!

Rock to my left, hard place to my right..

EDIT: On the MP note, does anyone know if it'll have bots available, similar to Unreal Tournament 3? I still give that a quick play time to time with bots (and all the mad mutators).

I’m exactly the same, usually multiplayer games are of no interest to me. But DOOM has sparked my curiosity, especially as someone who used to enjoy multiplayer first person shooters like Quake/Unreal. Totally understand your concerns about it being heavily dependant on the community, too. Which is just another reason they should include bots, in case the numbers need to be made up. I’m hoping the community will be good, considering the creative freedoms they’re handing over with the SnapMap thing.

Its basically a "console" ahead, in terms of graphics, of another shooter called Homefront thats getting ready to release. LOL

wakeNbake2955d ago
