Movin through the Rain; SFG’s Heavy Rain Move Review

SFG writes: That old saying,”Be careful what you wish for, because it might come true”, became a reality. It was easy to calibrate the game, and get it going. Moving the character was a bit easier this time around. You used to have to hold down a trigger button to move, now all you do is move the Navigator analog stick. (Heavy Rain , PS3) -

Great game! Love it.
Been looking forward to trying this with the Move. It's one of the first games available that takes the patch approach to an existing title.

"All in all, the patch works pretty well, but I for one, would rather play with a regular controller."

That's not what I wanted to hear. If these are just better off with a controller and it doesn't do anything for immersion then what is the use.

I downloaded the demo so I need to try it myself. Nice of QD to make a demo available. Are they going to patch the original game? There is no way I will buy it again just for Move support.

The move patch really bring more immersion, when you open a door, you have to do the same action with the move, same for brushing your teeths, start your car, etc

Playing it for the first time now. Move works with it really well. The action scenes are awesome, don't care much for the really slow parts though.

i am still trying to get use to it, for me the action icon is hard to see, but shocking is that when you want to pick up something your hand does that same action as the character would in game.

I think a game like Heavy Rain can straddle the line between hardcore and casual. I'm afraid the author is right that it becomes a point a click adventure...sorta like Myst, but I don't think it takes away from the game, save perhaps the difficulty.

I'm buying the Move edition, but I hope I can play with the DS3 as well. Best of Both Worlds.

You can switch between either one if you like, you also don't need to get the move edition you can just dl the patch.

It would have been better if i never played it before
After playing the game when it first came out and now playing with the move, i have came to the conclusion that it would have been 20x more epic if i was using the move the first time i played the game. It would have made it even more unique, more challenging, and in many ways deeper.

I played the Heavy Rain demo, and the first thing I thought was "This would be absolutely fabulous on the Wii. I hope it is on Move. No..I know it will be on Move. It's too obvious, perfect...perfectly obvious. This game could be a killer app for Move. OMG! Sony already has the killer app for Move! Those bastards!"

I don't know remember if I'd call it a killer app, but I wanted to play it using the Move first. Thanks for letting me know my gambit will pay off. I'm buying the Move Edition when it comes out.

glad they change the walking. Looking forward to this being my first 'real' Move game

Absolutely loving the Move support in Heavy Rain. I discounted the reviewers thoughts when he said something along the lines of "I didn't know I had a cursor for my thoughts till 2 hours in the game". I figured that out in 10 minutes.

To open a door, you thrust forward and pull back. To drive a car, you thrust forward to put the key in and twist your wrist to turn the car on. Many of the movements implemented are meant to simulate similar actions of reality.

Another spotty review.....which is fine, just take it with a grain of salt. I've heard far more positive experiences than negative.

Thats why I dont pay attention to reviews of games.. It's almost as if they are looking for faults because its there job instead of approaching it from a gamers perspective.. For example I played the demo with the regular ds3 and It was like one big long quick time sequence.. It wasn't bad by anymeans.. I like quick time events but to me it seems like the effec that quantic was going for would be alot more natural with the move.. I'm really excited to try this.. I was actually thinking about buying this game for move.. Guess i'll have a better idea after I play the demo :)
