Content, not visuals, makes a new game

PC Gamer: It drives me absolutely nuts to hear people dismissively complain that a follow-up game that uses the same engine and some of the same graphics as the original “looks like a mod.” Lately we’ve heard it about Left 4 Dead 2 and BioShock 2, and we’re hearing it now about Fallout: New Vegas (which comes after the whining that Fallout 3 is a mod of Oblivion).

I just don’t get it.

If you’re a total graphics whore, sure—I suppose that anything that doesn’t look significantly better than what came before is unacceptable and under no circumstances worth paying $50 to play. Me? I’m more of a gameplay-first kind of guy.

The story is too old to be commented.

AY-FREAKING-MEN! Finally, someone who gets it. As long as it's not just a quick money bid, if a game looks the same or runs on the same engine, albeit slighty updated, as long as it's packed with new content, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

This silly mindset of "OH NOES!11! IT DOESN'T HAVE AN UPDATED GRAPHICS ENGINE!" is total bull.

Graphicly Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo Prologue beats GTA4 right? But i have 1000 times more fun than those titles when im playing GTA 4 Free airport with a sniper in my hand! And ima graphic designer. Cn you look the beautiful textures of the walls where you hide when 20 real people trying to kill you?

Gameplay is allways ahaed of graphics!
