A Lesson From Open World Gaming

BMC: A big selling point to games like Grand Theft Auto is the non-linear approach and the ability to explore an open world. Of course it’s only as successful as the level of interaction and options that it offers. With Grand Theft Auto and most MMORPGs, you can just go around and punch anyone you want. It represents this freedom from consequence and societal restraints that we have in real life. Especially given the stress and grudges that accumulates from everyday life, it can provide some relief imagining these citizens of Liberty City are instead people we have some beef with.
