PushSquare: "The Heavy Rain: Move Edition’s motion controls add an immersive layer to the already fantastic thriller from earlier in the year."
I still want my DLC.
i prefer the pad. Even in the demo it seems tacked on but the fight sequences did feel better though . Ill give it a try as i have move and heavy rain.
they arent making dlc because they chose to do the move for this game instead.
no shit sherlock
I think the MOVE is the way forward for this type of game.Quantic Dream next games will have this implemented to a far greater level. It's all good for gamers :D
I'm not lying either. The developers even said this.
Everyone knows that months ago.
good review, but 4 total points allowed? Why can't they make it 10/10 or 100/100 Theres a huge difference to me between a 3/4 and a 4/4. Thats equivalent to 75/100.
i agree. at least use 5.
As I've explained numerous times -- it's four points because I believe there are four classifications of game quality: Bad, Alright, Good, or Excellent. It doesn't equate to a 100 point scale.
Really Bad Bad Average Good Really Good You're missing the 'Really Bad' category. Reserved for total abominations such as Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. http://www.metacritic.com/g...
A 4/4 means perfect. A 3/4 means good in your eyes. There is a big gap between good and perfect.
4/4 doesn't mean perfect on their scale. It means Excellent, like he just said. Seeing as he invented that site's scoring system, I'm inclined to believe him over you.
So then what represents perfect? Although you may beleive that perfect games don't exist, you still need to have a way to score perfect because that gives a sense of how far from perfect games are. "Excelent" can mean many things, but perfect only means perfect. "Seeing as he invented that site's scoring system, I'm inclined to believe him over you. How does him inventing it have anything to do with it being a good scale?
It only scored a 4. "teh failz!" ;) Edit: I'd best include the disclaimer that that was sarcasm. I know it defeats the whole purpose of writting it but some people have a hard time spotting it sometimes.
Let people be idiots.
Your all easily pleased. Just been playing the sports and it's pretty average. It's without doubt a wii rip off, it looks a he'll of a lot better than the wii obviously but is it ground breaking or new. No. It's just a newer version of what wii players have been doing for the last few years.
newer and better version, isn't that enough? you probably think that i (for example) should go and buy wii. it has no HD, no Move accuracy, but... hey wii was first with motion and so whole world has to ignore what Move brought to the table and respect original. just remember one thing, even original no matter how good it was can be improved and thus deserve to be bought. why do you think so many people are excited about ICO/SOTC collection (me included)? i own both games (and won't sell those) and cherish them as one of the best games ever. but... do i want better versions? hell, yeah and i'm more than willing to pay again. same goes for MGS collection and lot of games i'd like to see remade and improved (Primal and Tenchu, looking at you)
I don't expect you to go buy a Wii , but as for what Sony has brought to the table I would say very little as it's already in millions of peoples homes and is called the Wii. Just thought the release games I've played were very average. I like the Heavy Rain demo but I'm not gonna play through that again just to use the move.
"but as for what Sony has brought to the table I would say very little as it's already in millions of peoples homes and is called the Wii" i only know 2 people with Wii and a lot of people with ps3. Wii is really not popular here. and just why would I care about what Wii brought to the table if i don't have one? not being HD was a no-go situation for me and more important than any motion controls "Just thought the release games I've played were very average" even if that would be true. - how can one be praising Wii and quality games in same sentence? Majority of Wii games are showelware. - does this mean all future games cannot improve? "I like the Heavy Rain demo but I'm not gonna play through that again just to use the move." neither would I, but I didn't rush to HR since it was obvious that Move support will come someday. So, now after buying 2xMove+sub I'll go and buy HR, asap as soon as I finish RE5 gold, (which I also couldn't play with standard controls) followed later by MAG and SOCOM 4 (MAG is also title i didn't want to play with controller and SOCOM 4 is coming in these months). that's pretty strong lineup for me and my taste. even though you act as unbiased, you are just bad at trolling.
@iistuii Not having a Wii myself (just dont care about its kiddie library and last gen visuals), I cant tell for sure but I guess, looking at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watc... MOVE tech is fairly superior. I'm not here to convince you, because clearly you already has your mind set, just to disagree with your comment. Take care
Wow, You wasted a lot of money then.
That can't be right. Are you sure you didn't hear wrong. Most developers say it is easy to integrate the Move controller into their games. Why should Heavy Rain be any different? I don't even remember them saying they didn't do DLC because of Move. I think you guys heard rumors or have some false information or something.
I'm not certain it was because of Move support but Cage for sure did apologize to the fans because there will be no DLC other than the Taxedermist which is actually a tech demo older than the game itself.
most Move games depend on free flow based on few predefined motions and their limitations. which is not hard to code. (speaking as 1 who writes code for living) i only played Heavy Rain demo and there was 20x more scripted (different) moves than any games full content. if they wanted to do those with quality motion that translates into real world i can only say kudos to coders if they had 25% success rate doing that. but all the reviews i read go well beyond that 25%. and i can't even imagine how much motions whole game consists off. now that motion controls appeared, i'm buying heavy rain.
4/4 wtf? i thought it was supposed to be out of 5 -.-
