A video from TGS 2010 showing off impressive gameplay from the upcoming GT5. It looks like the game can actually live up to the hype. Unfortunatly you gotta make your own sound as this clip comes without sound.
Oh My God what a car!
I'll just leave this here. http://www.gtpla.net/wp-con...
everobody go to preorder the game
Done, didit ;-)
"Unfortunatly you gotta make your own sound" - this is a kinect title now? /s
gt5 doesnt have hype, it just has real traditional anticipation. @disagrees. i meant it in a good way fellas
Words you used are too fancy buddy, TOO FANCY!
Anyone know if there's any vids of the Premum crashes yet?
You know a game is half assed when you need to talk about crash damage that only applies to the "premium" cars.
you do know that GT5 is trying to model real-time damage with its cars and in order to do this, they need permission from respective car makers, right? that's a hard task in itself already. if you skip this part, then what you'll have in your games are simulated damage ala Burnout, NFS or even Forza. saying GT5 is half assed with half assed knowledge about it is nothing to be proud of!
YUSSS! The exhaust spark, fire or how you want to call it that comes out of the muffler is finally here!
too bad they canceled this car for production :(
it's like a tribute edition and they just made several of it. that's the intention all along if I remember correctly.
Forza who? Project what?
Damn, I'm starting to think it might actually live up to the hype, I would love it to but whether it will or not, i guess we'll find out november
Don't worry dude.. it will definately live up to the hype, trust me. Online Multiplayer is going to be fantastic, You can just hang out with your friends, drift together on long tracks, cruise etc etc.. the possibilities are endless! I think of GT5 as a Driver's or a Car Lover's Paradise.
I'm pretty sure it will be at very least an awesome game, but I'm still worried about the online, Polyphony Digital have little experience with online, even if the online doesn't work or it has lag or something I won't care too much, I've never cared much about multiplayer in racing games
GT5 keeps looking better
above all the lies.
Graphics don't make a game
nobody saying it does
fact. Wake me up when someone claimed GRAPHICS ALONE MAKE A GAME.
good job for you
nothing piss me off that watching bad driving in GT5.
not a bad driver, but definitely very aggressive. He's trying to push the other cars aside.
i can't see anyone that should doubt gt5. the go karts have sold me alone. will be getting this for sure.
Biggest game to be released in this year. Looks like a console itself. Multiplayer going to be EPIC.
"Biggest game to be released in this year." the Biggest games in this year are call of duty black ops and halo reach..
Wow dude. Was the 360 your very first console? Would you like me to tell you a story about how Gran Turismo is still one of the most popular and most successful franchises in the world? A franchise that still has more units sold than the entire Halo franchise even though there hasn't been a real GT game in 5 years? It must be a shame to lose one of your greatest developers who created the most successful Xbox franchise already. But you probably don't understand too much considering your brain hasn't really developed yet.
assuming halo reach will sell a bit higher than halo 3, I'll give it say 13-14 million in lifetime sales black ops will sell similarly to(but not significantly higher than) mw2, I'll give it 13m 360 and 10m ps3 lifetime assuming gt5 is the biggest gt yet, it will sell a little more than gt3, so 14-15m lifetime. I think its safe to say gt5, black ops, and reach are the biggest titles of this year. Fastest selling? black ops. Longest lasting? gt5. biggest game? all of them
@CernaML: " A franchise that still has more units sold than the entire Halo franchise even though there hasn't been a real GT game in 5 years?" lol. pac man has shifted more copies than Gran Turismo 5 - does that mean that if a new pac man game comes out on PSN/XBLA this year that its the 'biggest game to be released this year'? no. past sales dont mean that a new game in the series will be the biggest game of the year when the past sales were for a different console. remember, PS2 has 150m+ install base, the PS3 doesnt. Halo 3 on THIS GENERATION racked up absolutely mind blowing numbers, and Reach is well on the way to equalling or bettering them. it was always going to be huge. GT5? well that remains to be seen. MGS4 was touted as the game that would sell millions of PS3s and sell 10m+ copies. it managed about 4. GOW3 was touted as the game to push the PS3 sales ahead of the 360s sales and sell 10m+ copies. it managed what, 2.3m? GT5 is coming out 4 years into the consoles life, and lots of people got fed up with waiting and 'got over it' years ago. i think about 5-6 million sales is probably where itll end up - best selling PS3 exclusive, but nowhere near the sales of Reach or Black Ops. Having said that, the video looks incredible. probably the best footage ive seen of GT5 so far. @randomwiz: "Longest lasting? gt5." not a chance in hell. Halo Reach will be played online by tens/hundreds of thousands of people every single day without fail for years. remember, Halo 3 came out in 2007 and still has hundreds of thousands of people play it every day. even in the last 24 hours - a week since Halo Reach has been released - there have been 241 203 unique players play Halo 3 online. and as of right now, over 20 MILLION unique players have played it online (source: bungie.net). GT5 will have some legs, but mainly just in single player. Reach will be the longest lasting game this generation apart from Halo 3.
GT3 didn't need an install base of 150 million PS2s to sell 15 million copies. It launched only like a year after the PS2 launched. Pac Man? Bwahaha, okay whatever you say. And why are you brining up all these other games? None of the last gen MGS games shifted 10 million copies. The God of War games didn't shift 10 million copies last gen. They weren't even close. Seriously dude? The friggin' Prologue, which is considered a demo, shifted nearly 5 million copies and the PS3's install base was TINY. Not to mention advertisement was pretty much non existent. You are in complete denial if you think Gran Turismo 5 won't exceed or at least perform as well as every other Gran Turismo game before it. All I'm getting from you mindless baboons is that if the franchise is last gen, it won't do as good this gen. Reality? Pretty much every franchise that was created last gen or the gen before is doing just as well this gen. MGS 4, God of War 3, Halo 3/ Reach, Grand Theft Auto 4, all performing about as well as their predecessors. Gee, for a person who apparently hates fanboys, you sure can be far more annoying than them.
"Pac Man? Bwahaha, okay whatever you say. " - you completely missed the point of what i was saying. no surprises there though. "GT3 didn't need an install base of 150 million PS2s to sell 15 million copies. It launched only like a year after the PS2 launched. " - it didnt sell 15 million copies in a day you know lol. its sold 15 million copies NOW, nearly 10 years later. "And why are you brining up all these other games?" - im bringing them up because every time a big PS3 game comes out, all the fanboys on here claim its going to sell millions of PS3s and sell 10 million copies.......then it hits 2-3 million in its lifetime, if its lucky. theyre doing the same for GT5. gee, do you see what im getting at? "The friggin' Prologue, which is considered a demo, shifted nearly 5 million copies and the PS3's install base was TINY. Not to mention advertisement was pretty much non existent" - apart from the fact that it was BUNDLED with PS3s in Europe, which is Sonys biggest selling market. bundling games with the console artificially inflates sales numbers for the game. they did this with GT3 as well, meaning that potentially millions of PS2 buyers that didnt even want it got it, and it counted as a sale. "You are in complete denial if you think Gran Turismo 5 won't exceed or at least perform as well as every other Gran Turismo game before it. " - really? metacritic scores: GT3: 95 GT4: 89 GTHD: 82 GT5P: 80 GTPSP: 74 notice a trend there? seems theyve been getting worse. fans of the series know that GT3 was noticeably better than GT4. whats to say the sames not going to happen again? just cause GT5s graphics are better doesnt mean the game is. GT4 looked better than GT3, but was a worse game.
Oops, looks like you missed an important point I made. Guess I was right. :) Anyway, Pac Man is irrelevant. The gaming industry was irrelevant back in the day. But I can see it shifting a lot of units considering it's pretty much available on every platform known to man. Were you including the 20 Pac Man games that could barely move 1 million units? Yeah no sh*t GT3 didn't sell 15 million in one day. But it did break industry records. Sound familiar? No, I don't see where you're getting at. Fanboys hype up their game and expect it to sell a lot big whoop. Like I mentioned (here's an important point you missed), every current gen game from a franchise that has been around since the last two generations have exceeded or performed as well as their predecessors. Believing the fanboy hype is your own damn fault. Long development periods mean nothing. GTA4 took a long time to develop and had several delays but look how well it was received. Red Dead Redemption took even longer but is a bigger success than Red Dead Revolver. Why is GT5's development time always brought up anyway? Why was Starcraft 2's dev time ignored? Hell, even Duke Nukem Forever's dev time feels ignored. Probably because it's just considered a joke now. Bundles... You cannot be serious... Do you realize how dumb your comment about bundles sound? I guess Halo 3 isn't a real success since it was bundled. Halo Reach isn't a real success because that's bundled as well. Those 10 million sales are all bloated. You make it sound like people were forced to buy the GT3 bundle. I don't even remember ever seeing a GT3 bundle. Out of every PS2 console I bought, none of them came with GT3. If they didn't want the game then they'd just get the stupid PS2. Bundles are INCENTIVES. People like to wait to pick up a console until it's bundled with their favorite game. If these GT5 Prologue bundles sold a lot then obviously people WANTED IT. Really? Yeah really. You'd probably say the same thing if people said the next Halo won't sell as much as their predecessors. Cute Metacritic scores. I guess this just shows that the media has such high expectations for DEMOS now. They should start reviewing every demo that comes out on Steam/PSN/XBL. I'll admit though, after GT3, GT4 just didn't seem as good. But listing GTPSP is a joke. It's like comparing the highest rated Halo game (Combat Evolved) to Halo Wars. Should I list the scores for all the Halo games and observe how each installment has been getting lower review scores than the last as well? Thought so. And do you honestly think this game is only about graphics? Did NASCAR, damage, weather, day and night cycles, WRC, karts, feature rich online system, Top Gear, and special events fly right over your head? You are just hoping that this game isn't a huge success aren't you? Here's a suggestion. Make a new N4G account. Call it IHateYouGamers.
ALFA speaks the truth, seriously the move launch was like a mini console launch. GT5 will literally be like a console launch when ppl realise how incredible it is car lovers everywhere will buy the hell out of it.
Bumps, didn't see any damage in the replay.
Can't believe how fkin awesome this looks... especially at like 1:04 when he exits the tunnel.. woooow
cant wait to play in 3d!!!!! its gonna be insane!!!!!
then it was the 458italia then it was damage confirm then it was 900+ cars confirm then it was the game to release this year. its a day1 purchase for me
You forgot the amazing Multiplayer mode.
You forgot the standard/premium car bombshell.
You forgot that its the best looking racing game ever.
forgot the dynamic weather, the track editor, the go-kart, Nessie easter egg in one of the screen shot (lol).
I'm going to buy a ps3 + a TV once I get a job and a bundle with this game is really tempting. Either that or a bundle with LPB2 probably. :) This game looks incredible <3
and whilst I will not be able to get a PS3 just yet, yes! this game will move consoles, it looks incredible, we might well be looking at the best racing game ever made.
This looks a 1000 times more impressive than that old Forza 3!
I absolutely agree that this looks (and probably feels) much better than Forza 3, But I still enjoy Forza 3 before GT5 comes out. (just over a month left!!!)
I know better but if someone told me that this footage was from a PS4 game... I swear I would believe him...
Trial Mountain :) In GT3 & 4 the best strategy to turn the hairpin after the tunnel and the long straight under the tree canopy was to not brake and just slam into the side and let it guide you around the corner. Far faster than braking for the corner. Let's hope the damage system in GT5 makes that strategy a poor choice.
such a classic track
My favourite track now looking more beautiful than ever.
Can just say trial mountain was an awesome looking track in GT1. Does anyone else think that polyphony have been leading us and all the other developers up the garden path. Lets face it, up to a couple of weeks ago all the demos and builds looked a little cold and bland. People were already saying it wiped the floor with any other driving game. But recently I believe we are actually seeing real release engine demos coz the detail has gone through the roof. Wonder what the polyphony team were really thinking when they looked at the Forza 3 game at the show
This has been a staple of PS3 games... they build it and show it off, it's met with indifference and then the final build it just way above expectations. Killzone 2 demo vs Killzone 2 final game is a prime example.
You know bias and ridicule has pushed devs to create tech and software that truly impresses in every respect.
