The Scariest Game You'll Ever Play

HCG Writes "When I first heard about Amnesia: The Dark Descent my first thought was I’ve never heard of this game. It must not be that good. After hearing it was a survival horror game, I was intrigued to look into it. After watching a frighting trailer on Steam, I was compelled to download the demo, and after 40 heart pounding minutes of that I was determined to play the full game . Now that I’ve hyped it up, what is Amnesia?"

I agree with the title.

The Genre Scary Survival Horror is disappearing, I hope Dead Space 2 and especially Silent Hill 8, brings that scary feeling as the same or better level than Amnesia.

Amnesia is worth it, and only cost $20.

They've NAILED the atmosphere. It's uneasy playing as the defenseless player (now that we're over-saturated with super characters this gen). But it's not the scariest I've played. It's up there, but Silent Hill 1 and 2 will forever take that position.

It probably isn't a very good game if I never heard of it.

Try the demo on steam. You'd be very surprised.

callahan092926d ago

I love this game. One of the best of the year for me.

lolzers2926d ago

Yeah, one of the best horror games in a long long time.

MagicAccent2926d ago

If you like 'real' survival horror, you owe it to the genre(not to mention the developers) to buy this game.

EvilBlackCat2926d ago

I played the demo but it ran like crap on my 8800GT. Even on medium settings it didn't play smoothly. The textures are extremely low resolution and I just couldn't get into it. I'd like to give it another shot but an 8800GT should run this smoothly. I guess if you have a decent card and $20 it might be a good game.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

Something is wrong,

8800GT should play this with the highest settings with no problem.

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: 2.0Ghz
Memory: 2048MB
Disc Space: 3GB
Video Card: Radeon HD/GeForce 6

Maybe is the Demo that have a bad optimization or you should upgrade you Drivers for the Video Card.

il-mouzer2926d ago

try to update your video drivers, I had an 8800GT recently and had the same problem with ME2 and SC2 a simple driver update fixed everything

I want this game, and I really do hope it brings back survival horror to its former glory. Either that or I can pray for the next Silent Hill...

MGRogue20172926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

It looks really scary yeah... but at the same time, It looks really laggy on the trailers that have been released for it so far.

Doesn't exactly scream "Buy Me for a good time!".. does it? -.-

Anyway, I ain't lying.. Go check the trailers if you don't believe me. And no, It ain't my PC, trust me.. lol

Does that look smooth to you? Nope.

TLG19912926d ago

thats probably just your pc the trailers are fine on mine and the games runs at a smooth fps soooo

peowpeow2926d ago

What do you mean by "looks really laggy"? It looks great and smooth to me

SpideyNut2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

...but this game ( demo), and the last few indie games I tried to play on my PC were impossible to play, because my mouse became disabled once I tried to launch the game. This issue always seems to happen when the dev is from a foreign country, and I've not gotten help from Steam CS, or found any solution via Google. It's a shame... I've read quite a few positive reviews about this game, but they'll never get my $$.

lolzers2926d ago (Edited 2926d ago )

I think it may be something wrong on your end because I've never had that problem. Especially if you've googled it and found no one else in the same situation.

SpideyNut2925d ago

There are PLENTY of people who've had the same issue....just no solution has been provided for ANY of them, just like myself. I can play Crysis, L4D2, MafiaII, Oblivion, and plenty of other DEMANDING games on my PC, with ZERO issues. You know what happens when you assume.....
