i cant wait for this game and yes this look like a great contender for Ninja Gaiden and God of War games.

Don't like that you have to stop to gather the orbs. It's a waste of time to have to do that and adds nothing to the gameplay.

There are definitely some flaws with the game right off the bat. The flow between a QTE keyed action and the action itself is a bit jarring. Like when he goes from acting upon the giant's glowing face and it kind of just jumps to his cross whip being attached to its head.

I hope this has more than just the cross whip as a viable primary weapon.

You have to stop to absorb the orbs because you can choose to have them go to powering either your light meter or dark meter. So it actualy *does* play a strategic role in the gameplay.

And I actually find the QTEs less jarring in this game, thanks to the fact that a giant glowing button doesn't show up onscreen. The circles are at least a little more subtle.

The game does have a whole lot of HUD though.

Then they should have an option to switch between the two without having to stop and do it, IMHO. Or do what Dante did and have items that increases the gain of one over the other (artifacts). Still a poor game design to force you to stop and collect them, IMHO.

Though I disagree with how he said it, I do agree that listening to them is annoying. I could barely hear the music at all. Game looks good though.

It's either this.. or Enslaved: Odyssey To The West.

I can't afford both. >.<

holdmedownma20082592d ago

That sucks bro, I'm buying both bro.

lastdual2592d ago (Edited 2592d ago )

Totally buying both also :)

Although I'm a bit more excited about this. It keeps looking better with each new video. And if they can keep up this level of visuals and gameplay for 15-20 hours, that will be quite impressive.

Christopher2592d ago

I'm waiting on Enslaved. I don't like what I've seen with some of the controls, will need to try the demo. If that doesn't do it for me, will wait for reviews.

I admit that the $20 pre-order deal for Castlevania at Amazon.com is one of the main reasons I'm buying it at release. Otherwise, I'd be doing the same thing as I am with Enslaved.

jetlian2591d ago

enslaveds controls alittle clunky and combat doesn't look as good

Yeaah, amazing!!! It look very God of war-ish, which is a + for me.

blahblah2592d ago

until i saw this video. now its on "maybe when i get used and cheap" list. this and Enslaved demo are both kinda disappointing.

Seijoru2592d ago

I agree, this is honestly looking like a cheap knock-off of GOW. Thats my opinion at least.
