Wow, I'm laughing at how the majority of our society can't tell the difference between an emo look and a punk look.

I firmly believe this is how Dante should look, or be, given what he has to go through and learn about himself. I highly doubt he was born wanting to be the son of a demon lord.

Time to go into damage control mode, once again (for the mentally handicap of the interwebs).
1. He looks young.
2. His hair is black, yes, but his roots are white. It's not a flashy hairstyle, it's his roots growing back in.
3. He looks to be a trouble maker in this one, and NO (due to popular belief) Dante was not born knowing everything it is to know about being the Son of Sparta. He had to learn about his upbringing somewhere.

DMC3 was a prequel, yes. But it absolutely failed to explain how Dante became Dante. It just started when he first had his shop up and running.

Give this game a chance, and wait until we see the full game.

Every single comedy starts (or has) with some sort of tragedy. Dante wasn't born cocky. He most likely got his ass kicked first.

I agree with most of what your saying. It would be great if this was a true sequel (though honestly id be happy with just a continuation of the already existing series) My first houghts on this trailer when I first saw it was dante during his tony red grave days.

But I think the majority of people would agree this variation of dante looks and moves somewhat feminine. Also many are worried that this may have absolutely nothing to do with the previous DMC games which would suck.

How Dante became Dante? Dante and Vergil were trained by Sparda with his swordmastery when they were young. LDK died. Demons/Devils attacked Eva and her sons. Eva hid Dante in somewhere and Dante saw his mom die in the hands of demons. Vergil ran outside the house while getting attacked by demons while he was about to die Vergil awakened and slaughtered everybody.

Dante hid as Tony Redgrave and worked as a mercenary... etc. The story is in the first novel or was it the manga. It also showed that no matter where Dante/Tony went he was constantly attacked by demons. They hate his family so much.

Dante was probably crying a lot since he was alone and he wasnt as powerful after the death of his mother and the disappearance of Vergil. In the anime, it showed the lady that took care of Dante when he was a kid. He was still young (around 10-12) he had full silver hair all ready. The whole town was killed and burned to the ground by demons looking for Dante. It's in DMC Anime episode 8 called "Once Upon a Time".

People bash emo kids because the majority of them are whiny crybabies who act like they have it so bad in life, when in reality, they have it a 1000x better than most people out there. These whiny little emo kids b*tch about not being able to find true love (when they're only F'ng 16 years old) or having a boyfriend/girlfriend, or complain about their parents being too controlling and not letting them smoke/drink/cut themselves/do something else that's bad for them, etc.

These people b*tch and whine, wish they were dead, as if their lives are so damn bad. Frankly, it's annoying, and I'm sick and tired of hearing it. Their complaints are incredibly insulting and are a slap in the face to those that actually DO have it bad, like the people that live in poverty, the people that live in third world countries, people that have actually lost loved ones or have seen someone close to them self destruct on drugs/alcohol.

And what's worse, is that these people think those reasons I stated earlier (relationship problems, caring parents)are enough justification to kill themselves, and actually go through with it, leaving their families to suffer. This emo trend is F'ng sickening and is encouraging suicides and crybaby attention seeking.

For the very small percentage of emos that DO actually have reasons to be sad, I sympathize, truly I do, but it's no reason to take up some crappy little fashion trend and give up on life completely.

The action was dull , slow , not intense despite many camera tricks , i didnt recognize anything DMC in it . to feel like DMC you need more than turning the camera around like a Michael Bay on heroine (if he isnt already on it , or crack)

I know it might not right to decide to believe so without a proper gameplay trailer (their own fault anyway) but it did felt like something that would be precisely using their combat engine from Heavenly sword and Enslaved . I wasn't really impressed with the trailer, and it also gave a few cues to how the gameplay would be fleshed out which has me concerned.

Weapon Morphing -

Ninja Theory thought they were geniuses when they made Heavenly Sword include a morphing weapon. This is a cop out when each iteration of the weapon adds no value to the battle system. Hmm.. should I mash square while holding L1, or mash while holding R1. It never mattered.

Ranged, Mid, Close Combat styles -

When the sword turns into a whip, not only is it reminicent of Heavenly Sword, Dantes Inferno, and the new Castlevania, it makes me wonder if Ninja Theory are bringing the Heavenly sword battle system over to DmC in an attempt to trick players into thinking the system is deep.

Look Ninja Theory fans, there is no denying that Ninja Theory can create a deep story with imersive atmosphere, but they don't know gameplay. Fast paced, deep action games require more than just the mashing of 1 or 2 buttons it requires strategy variation against intellegent attack patterns all within a STEADY FRAME RATE. Ninja Theory have proven they can't do it thus far, and I am concerned that they won't be able to do it for one of my most beloved franchises.

I am in no position to give any proper critique on 'DmC' since it isn't even out yet but, from what I see thus far causes me cringe painfully.

Dante looked perfectly fine before. He was our favorite whilte/silver haired, clad in red, demon badass, the icon of the Devil May Cry series! We were practically attached to OUR Dante, we grew with him throughout the series and to see him BUTCHERED like this?... I am DEEPLY ashamed of Capcom (Not so much Ninja Theory since they fail anyways).

Now, I understand that this is a 'Reboot' of sorts and that the purpose is to re-make the and alter things but, what they did was basically remove everything that made 'Devil May Cry', DEVIL MAY CRY. First of all, by 'rebooting' the DMC series basically means they are taking years worth of gameplay, storylines, characters/character development, everything and altering it but still keeping tidbits of the original composition here and there since its still a part of the DMC franchise - and yet, that's not the case here, no… as far as I'm concerned they only have copyright to the name. On a little more positive note the graphics (excluding the 'Dante' wannabe) seem decent and, the gameplay/action looks pretty cool but, that's besides the point. The point is that Capcom and Ninja Theory are too caught up in trying to become mainstream, trying too hard (or little) to get their product to sell on the market rather than how we, the devoted fans, would react to such drastic changes in such a brief time, and without much notice. Generally, the DMC was a pretty successful series, maybe not well known as 'Halo', 'Final Fantasy', 'COD', or any of the more mainstream games but, it was still quite popular. Also, what irks me the most is that they are taking a strongly Japanese oriented RPG and 'westernizing' it to appeal JRPG to gamers from the other side of the world by taking out major JRPG aspects which then renders it to a mere RPG?… Er… Am I missing something here?… What am I expecting from DMC5? Crapload of hacking and slashing/button mashing, little or slow character devolvement, short storyline (Bayonetta - Great game, but short storyline-wise), ridiculously easy or difficult levels, ect. Its fuckin' ridiculous.

Nothing prevents new gameplay mechanics with the old dante . it would be one thing to change completely a direction had they tried and failed , they didnt with dmc4 . They proposed the same game as dmc 3 but "lite and hd" .

Fans never said anything about making the same old game over and over without improvements . So i'm tired of the implication that it's either "new fake dmc" or "same old same old" .
