5 Ways Kinect Beats Move

TSA Writes:
Some of us here at TSA towers are getting a little tired of all the Move chatter we're hearing. Sure, Sony were first to release their effort to muscle in on the motion-control market but Microsoft have a solution on the way too, you know?

Article get a fail or more specifically a 1/5 = 20% which is abysmal.

Games - FAIL
Tech - FAIL
Price - FAIL
Control - FAIL
Marketing - WIN but how does marketing make a product better? The most it can do is increase its appeal so maybe fail here as well.

marketing doesnt make a product better, at best it helps make better sales.

also, marketing is the only thing on the list that doesnt affect our experience with the product (as gamers).

Games - WIN (recently)

Tech - WIN (compared to the PS3 Camera)

Price - WIN (Supports 4 Players or more depends on the game)

Control- FAIL(Could be Argued with with games like Dance Central)

Marketing- WIN but it doesn't make it better

The price of move becomes ridiculous when you start thinking about playing with more then 2 people

@Scotland-The-Brave
how can some dude riding on a dragon, A guy making peoples head explode with a baseball and Controlling a Mech sound suckish?

I don't know how many times this has been said but Kinect sees you in 3D that means it knows exactly where you are trough the use of depth PS eye is a webcam with voice-recognition
why do you think it has 3 cameras?

@xAlmostPro
Did you follow the link?

Scotland-The-Brave2594d ago

No the games still sound like they suck.
The tech is no better than the ps eye. (what have you seen kinect do that ps eye cant?) Theres a table somewhere showing ps eye beats kinect at frames per second.

xAlmostPro2594d ago

kinect only supports 2 people per camera does it not?..

I played Kinect at Macy's and Move at SonyStyle (Tyson's).
My opinion on the TSA Article
The Games: Gladiator Duel was the best game I played on either system in terms of enjoyment and responsiveness of the technology.
The Tech: Moved tracked in 3D space during Gladiator Duel. One of the QTE gestures required you to stab at the screen. Kinect had a difficult time keeping up with actions in 2D space.
The Price: Both Kinect and Move will be limited to 2 people playing at any time (my opinion from my experience with each system). Basically, it's $150 for either system.
The Control: Move seemed to have much better precision and less lag. The Kinect bowling could not determine if I was turning my wrist during release to create spin. The Kinect demo guy told me to swing my arm across my body to apply spin. Although this worked, it indicated to me that the software or Kinect was limited in its ability to determine my actions.
The Marketing: MS will probably win in this category.

I love how you get disagrees by people who most likely haven't actually played them like you did.

"The Kinect bowling could not determine if I was turning my wrist during release to create spin. The Kinect demo guy told me to swing my arm across my body to apply spin. Although this worked, it indicated to me that the software or Kinect was limited in its ability to determine my actions."

Yeah that sounds about right. It can't tell your wrist movements like Move can because of the gyroscopes and accelerometers.

nycredude2594d ago

He is getting disagrees cause move supports up to 4 people at a time not 2. Only Kinect is limited to 2.

Raikiri2594d ago (Edited 2594d ago )

Kinect is not limited to 2 players not even 4 it all depends on the game..

For example
4 players will suck with both Kinect and Move cuz it will be hard to see what your doing in split-screen but a game like Dance Central may support more then 4 players cuz its on one screen which isn't possible with move unless you want to spend about 300$ for 4 move controllers it's inconvenient and impractical

gamerdude112594d ago

I don't think you are going to be able to get 4 people within the field of view of the PSeye or Kinect for a motion enabled game. I guess you can disagree with me when the first 4 person game comes out requiring 4 contollers.

- Buttons
- Actually Works
- Haptic
- Near lagless
- Accuracy
- Games - Hardcore, Casuals
- Retrofit for older games

seinfan2594d ago

Hmm, all that you pointed out fits the description of a regular controller. I guess there's no need for motion.

btk2593d ago

Hmm,
Table tennis, Golf, sword fighting etc - works better with motion controller
But hey - I can see you like a standard controller - I like a standard controller too - just for some games like the above and fps - I think Move will actually be fun to play with. At least I have the choice.
