Weather details, Laguna Seca and Trial Mountain return, Polyphony Digital's X1 collaborative project with Red Bull Racing, and much much more!
to beat the Stig and Loeb Here is the X1 prototype trailer
Laguna Seca has been completely rebuilt and will return for GT5. Trial Mountain has also been confirmed.
“Gran Turismo Anywhere” will allow you to manage B-Spec races, right from your computer. You’ll be able to hold B-Spec races with your friends from anywhere in what are called “Remote Races”.
GT5 will feature a series of special events such as the Karting Experience, the AMG driving school, The Stig Challenge, Jeff Gordon NASCAR School, Sebastien Loeb Rally Challenge, and Gran Turismo Rally.
Point-to-point rally stages will be automatically and randomly generated – you’ll have to depend on your co-driver to give you the best instructions about the road ahead.
Rally mode can be played either on or offline.
Weather changes include temperature differences, air pressure changes, and humidity, affecting the surface conditions of the track dynamically.
Weather conditions are randomized. Forecasts for your race will be available but may not be entirely accurate, just like the real world.
Polyphony Digital has helped Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey design the X1 Concept – an “ultimate” racing car, free of any technical regulations.
Polyphony Digital has worked to improve engine sounds.

Do Forza also have The Stig? Jeff Gordon? And the best driver in the history of the WRC Seb Loeb? No!
all i can think of thats missing is a livery editor
Yes its a feature i would like but its not essential for core racing unlike weather or damage.
With all these features just mentioned. How much do you wanna bet some of these media outlets will still rate this game low lol?
Feels like christmas everytime there's a new feature announced
So what Polyphony is saying is basically that I will never again need or feel an urge to play a racing game that isn't Gran Turismo 5? Because that is how I interpret this awesome piece of news! EDIT: Also very nice to see Trial Mountain, which is my favourite Gran Turismo track. Though I'd kind of figured it'd be there. Same goes with the Seca :)
Laguna Seca! Nice, one of my favourite tracks.
nowhere to be found lol.
no word about any improved damgage
Hopefully they have changed it to the first realistic damage simulation ever featured in a racing simulation. Crashes over a certain speed result in complete write-off of the car and wiping of savegame while high speed impacts prevent you playing for months while the driver recovers from a broken spine in hospital or in the worst case, the driver dies and you have to buy the game again. There. Real damage. (do I need the /s?) For everyone over the age of six. You can switch it off.
"work on Gran Turismo 6 has already begun." WTH!
Starting work on the next title before you release the upcoming one is usual. Announcing the next game in the series (though I wouldn't call this an announcement) before you release the next one is a bit weirder, but Halo: Reach and ODST did the same thing. And I can gladly say that both of those games turned out fairly well. Even though ODST feels a bit rushed compared to Reach.
I'm tired to see photos GT5 and video of cars!
He said Gran Turismo 6 already begun!
We've known this. At GC he mentioned how he didn't intend for kart racing to make it into GT5, but he was able to get it in when it was something they had been working on for GT6 all along.
Do online races have rolling starts? Did they improve loading times? User created races?
