Bad news for anyone still hoping for more Geometry Wars. Bizarre Creations is well aware of the public demand, but they'd rather leave the franchise alone.
"It's just a great thing having titles that people love, that they associate with our studio - and Geometry Wars is one of them," said level designer Peter Collier. "It's very close to a lot of fans' hearts. I guess it's just one of those things, that it's a great and very proud feeling having something that the fans adore so much, but we don't want to over-saturate it by carrying on with it. It's may be something that we keep as something we love, and move on to other things, you know?"
I'd suggest to try Geometry Wars 2. You really need not bother with the first, Galaxies for Wii and DS is pretty neat too, but shows the franchise can be made without Bizarre.
i like it because you can get the ds version of the original via dlc from the wii to the ds. Nice game to play on the go.
There is no logical reason to ignore one of your biggest games and franchises so what gives???...Hmmmm...I smell a conspiracy and it might have something to do with the fact that their last games were made exclusively for M$. If M$ published Geometry wars then maybe there is something in writing preventing them from making it...who knows. What I do know is...
They were bought by Activision ( '07 ) and that was sad. They should of been making Project Gothic Racing 5 ( 360 exclusive ) and instead made Blur, a game that had good reviews but nobody bought. They also made a game that I liked called the Club, again it never really sold well despite being a solid game. A really talented bunch over there and I hope James Bond: Blood Stone plays and sells as well as it looks.
GW2 I am so close to crossing the billion mark on pacifism that is makes me sick to know I just need a couple more gates...sigh well If they ever do make a GW3 i am all over it!!
You can't keep trying to improve on something that is perfect to begin with. What if people kept trying to change a game like chess?
Where could they go with it? Honestly, I'd love to see this released for PSN as well.
