Two new blockbusters, the movie “Resident Evil: Afterlife” and the video game Halo: Reach, each provide a vivid glimpse into how the cinematic and gaming mediums are keeping their distance even as they converge.
i choose resident evil over halo anyday
you would choose one of the worst movies in history which would lasted around 2 hours, over a highly rated game that could last for years?
dont mind him...he would choose having sex with a tranny over halo...its what fanboys do edit: my bad...just checked RIP's comment history, and doesnt look like hes a fanboy, that comment was just in the form of one i still stand by my statement towards fanboys in general, just retract it being towards you, RIP
I actually saw RE: Afterlife last week. PURE-UTTER-TRASH. The RE movies have been getting worse and worse since the first one. The fight scenes were dull and there was ZERO originality in the fight/action sequences. And this is the first movie I've ever seen that overused slow motion to the point that it made me cringe. The best part of the movie was probably Wesker and even HE doesn't get a half decent fight scene towards the end. @HDgamer- I respect ur opinion, but no. Just no, lol. Inception was a good movie, RE: Afterlife wasn't even "okay" IMO. FYI, I thought the first Resident Evil movie was pretty decent. @Zinc- The plot was all over the place. They never explained Wesker's origins and theres was no back story on Chris either. And WTF was with the coins popping out of the zombiefied axeman?!?! LOL
I'm sorry that you're too bias Mr Anonymous because your preferences is so jaded that you can't see beyond your own infant hands. RE Afterlife is a good movie.
HD gamer...are you seeing things? where did i even bash RE:afterlife? i was merely commenting on his comment where he would choose RE over halo "ANYDAY"...meaning, even if halo was better, he would still choose RE, THATS where i thought he was a fanboy but NOWHERE in my comment did i even remotely come close to saying RE is a bad movie, game or franchise ive watched the other live action movies, and i think for video game movies, they are among the best ones, and i think RE5 has top notch graphics me, biased? hardly...but i AM a big FAN of the halo series...however, i dont try to downplay other franchises cause of it
The movie wasnt bad at all. Just dont associate it with the game's story. Now RE3 movie was really bad. But one thing i didnt like about the movie was the over use of slowmo. Heck, they wasted 5-6 minutes of the movie because of the slowmo intro. They didnt need to list the cast or the producers in the beginning. They should learn from the Matrix or LOTR movies.
Movie versus a video game? I guess n4g now really lost it
but thats just my opinion...I just find this insanely detached... al I can say is: Reach must be an exceptional game Afterlife is what i'd call "visual trash", it goes along the lines of 2012, Transformers 2 and other movies that have no substance, but look pretty, and thus keep 14 year old boys satisfied.
RE: Afterlife is one of the best movies this year
You don't watch too many movies my friend Inception FTW!!!!
I just saw it on Saturday and I was not overly impressed. It's was a very uninspired story. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it at all... but, he took elements from a bunch of movies and games and combined them, which created a watered down final product. Plus... it's just not making sense anymore. What the hell is Umbrella trying to accomplish? Where are they going with this?
You people dont know how to enjoy a movie. And no Im not saying Afterlife has Inception quality but its a good popcorn flick I woulndt mind seeing again So far this year 1. Inception 2. Toy Story 3 3. RE: Afterlife 4. The Other Guys 5. Ramona and Beezus 6. Salt 7. Despicable Me 8. Iron Man 2 9. Scott Pilgrim 10. Grown Ups
Personally I'd put Iron Man 2 and Scott Pilgrim over RE: Afterlife because I'm a sucker for Robert Downey as Iron Man and Scott P. was a great adaptation (and commercially under-appreciated)
Inception made me mad it made me feel like i could not just sit and enjoy a movie i had to sit there and actually think about it and the plot. But i seen most of those other movies also very good.
looking forward to resident evil
only an idiot fanboy would choose this movie over halo
Haha... I'm not a fan of Halo, but it's a quality game. Resident Evil: Afterlife is a poor excuse for a film.
Why is there even a article about this!? One is a game the other a movie of course the game will do better its halo. MS one and only crown jewel this is stupid. But since i seen the movie already id take reach. Which i am going to try out, the new RE movie is not that bad the ending i was disappointed in but its something that will come further down for the series of movies to come. I would give the movie like a 6/10
Movie Vs Game? Lame, RE AfterLife was a good movie (Better than most of those weak other 3D movies). Tanitic Vs Halo Reach, which one sinks more? -_- yeah I got to say this is pretty lame having a movie Vs a game.
Tanitic Vs Halo i think Tanitic would win that by a long shot lol.
For good story or longest yes, sells on the other hand flavors halo. But its dumb to do movies vs games, no one wins because it is like mw2 vs real life. Mw2 fails to beat real life.
I actually really like the RE films. They don't really follow the games, but i couldn't care less. I would choose Resident Evil: Afterlife over Halo.... Because I don't have a 360, so I cannot play the game... Looking at a box art and reading a manual is not worth $60, IMO. If I had a 360 I would most likely choose Halo.
I don't care what anyone says I have yet to watch RE: Afterlife but I'm willing to bet that, it's better than both Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender ( and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-3) . Those are poor excuses for a movies. Sure RE has never followed the game cut scene by cut scene (story line by story line) but seriously, I've heard and watched some bad things (in music and movies)But these RE movies aren't as bad Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat (both especially annihilation) and others, they're at least better than those. Sorry I had to edit the X-men thing
~Choice Topic of the Day~ * A piece of shit movie, that that should be arrested for identity theft over the superior, highly-rated and well respected Resident Evil game series..... * Or the recent, extremely high-rated and well received Halo: Reach video game.... DUH, Halo: Reach!? I'm probably the biggest RE fan (<-- video games) on the site and I'd choose Halo: Reach ANY DAY over those atrocious films that 'claim' to be Resident Evil. Ugh.... Brings my piss to a boil. >:0
I wonder that too. How come the Resident Evil Films are so different then the games yet there under the same IP. There great though for what they are, at least there the best out of the games to film adaptations.
Dude. Even the new games are different compared to the old games. RE4 and 5 should have become a new IP or a spinoff. RE,2,3,CV = RE (survival horror) 4,5 = New IP/Spinoff (action with horror elements)
Really?! I versus Article?! How about both?! Think of that!
How can you serouly conpair 2 different media, by 2 different company based on 2 different things? and the movies briliant LOVE the movie in 3D, I find Halo gernetic, sure ok I'll go and rent it at some point, but they are overhyped and loved way too much, this guy is on the same wave length as me here, but NOT close on Afterlife. Once again I serously loved Afterlife, can't wait for number 5!
how can you compare a movie to a video game? and its a live action resident evil movie the only reason you watch those is to make fun of how terrible and off topic of resident evil it is that is the only reason why im gonna download a not 3d version of it i won't wasn't money on it and especially cause it has 3d *gags a little* let's talk when they reboot the series and make RE6 and its an actual survival horror game
Hook Vs Halo RUFFFIIIOOOOO!!!
