Sony shares are up, reports Reuters. But microchip price increases may drive up production costs for the PlayStation 3 higher than ever as the company stocks up on chips for PS3 manufacturing.
"Sony is currently stocking up on chips as it begins to manufacture PS3 units."
Isn't that a bit late for starting to produce for a mass launch world wide?
But look at what Xbox 360 did, they didnt start production until late August and thats why they had a shortage. but at least Xbox had their sh!t together and had all the chips and processors ready to go for production. If PS3 is still getting stuck at trying to build more chips, then there launch is lookin screwed.
isn't this old news?
