SGL: Think the Legendary Edition for Halo: Reach is worth $150? After a little research, it turns out that it's actually worth quite a bit more.
I still refuse to pay $150 dollars for one game, it's against my standards and practices.
Wow, apparently a lot of people like paying $150 dollars for one game....=/
wow did you even read the article? other stuff comes with it jackass
Dave, seriously, stfu, I don't care what comes with it, the fact of the matter is I could buy 2 games new, and maybe 4 or 5 used...unless the legendary edition comes with solid gold bullion, I wouldn't buy it. I might pay 80 Dollars for a collectors edition, once in a blue moon, but never, NEVER $150! BTW, you know what happened the last time somebody called a person in my family a jackass, he made it the symbol of the democratic party. /s
Its for collectors you retard! if you dont like halo of course you wont want it but some people do! stay off the damn article if you dont like halo
Jesus Christ dude, I never, EVER said I didn't like Halo, I love Halo, one of the best shooter series on the market. I just CANNOT see myself paying $150 for a single game, regardless of what neat collector's things it comes with. (don't get me wrong those are some neat things) It's not a matter if I like something or not, it's a matter of logistics and spending. Let me put it to you this way, I Love Banana's Fosters, it's been my favorite desert ever since I was a kid, I'd be willing to pay around $5-$10 for it depending on how it's prepared. However I would never, EVER pay something like $30 for ONE Banana's foster! why? Because no matter how good it is, or if it comes with a large framed painting of a Banana's foster with it, I could take that $30, and buy 3 or 4 other Desert's for THE SAME BLOODY PRICE!!! Is my Logic Getting Through to you?! Or do I need to f***ing pull out the charts and graphs to explain it to you?! God Your Thick!
There are a lot of factors that come into play here regarding value. We won't know the true value of these until the game comes out officially, and auctions start cropping up everywhere. To use eBay as the sole source of "monetary value" for these items is not a good gauge to go by. It's as good as it can get right now, but seriously... give it a few weeks before you start saying what the overall value of this Legendary Edition is. Of course these prices are going to be exuberant right now. The game hasn't even come out yet. Prices are much higher for items like these when they are coming out on eBay before said items are officially released. I say take what this article is saying with a grain of salt, and expect the Legendary Edition of Halo: Reach to meet a similar fate as Halo 3's Legendary Edition: $150 at launch, people going crazy for the first week, then the price dropping sharply and Legendary Editions are left everywhere.
Using Ebay is bad....The best way is to see how much it cost to make but Microsoft or bungie (or any other company) would never reveal details like that...Its will surprise some how cheap they are to make. Obviously there is the value the consumer is willing to pay but like you point out after the hype the price will be lower
Thanks for the feedback. I thought I addressed that issue in the first couple paragraphs, but maybe I didn't emphasize it enough. Yes, the values will change as supply and demand shifts. The values suggested for each item are not permanent, but they are what people are actually wiling to pay for them at the moment and it's probably what you'd get for them if you have a pre order locked up and wanted to start selling off the excess items today.
sorry but mcfarlane has already stated that 95% of the legendary editions that have been made are sold out which means your going to have to pay a boatload on ebay if u want one
Plus, you underestimate just how much the value may go up over time. A year from now, or 10 years from now (especially before a new halo game comes out), the value will likely have increased.
220 bucks? Not bad. Not bad at all.
As much as people are willing to pay for it. Seeing how this will most likely sell out it is the right price. I have already paid off my legendary edition preorder. There is nothing better than leaving on a midnight launch with one of the largest boxes. Lol
I decided to preorder and pay to ship on release date form amazon rather then go to midnight launch becuz I hear alot of ppl get jumped when as they leave from big midnight releases and if u got the legendary edition then u got a big fat "mug me" written all over u. lol
...that in a pinch, the legendary edition can be used as a weapon if a covenant drop ship just happens to drop by unexpected. I hate running out of ammo.
It's worth what you are willing to pay for it.
Whoever wrote this article clearly has some type of mental handicap. They think someone will pay $60 for a DLC helmet? Why would you want a flaming helmet in the first place? It makes you that much easier to spot in multiplayer. Fire generally draw attention in reality and in video games. $20 for DLC armor? Are you kidding me? Haha. The value of that statue? Probably cost them $5 to make. That reminds me of the Modern Warfare 2 cheap night-vision goggles that ended up being mass-produced in China for maximum profit. I guarantee at some point all this DLC crap will end up available for everyone anyway. You're just paying for early access to it.
who thought those goggles WERENT gonna be cheaply made deserved to pay 150 bucks
Granted they were cheap, but a buddy of mine got them and believe it or not, they DID work alright, nothing the Military would use, but they did do what they were supposed to do.
Yep... that flamimg helmet will draw attention to me when I turn it on. To bad those people won't see my friends flanking there six as they hunt me. I want the attention. This isn't splinter cell.
@dinorawrr Thanks for the feedback. None of those prices are made up. Each of them is connected to an actual auction, which I noted in the article. Here's a URL to one if you missed it: http://cgi.ebay.com/Halo-Re...
There's a big difference between worth and what you're paying.
I refuse to go over that price it's the reason why I will just have to make myself happy with the limited editon of Halo Reach that doesn't include the action figure. It's also the reason why I didn't buy the GOW 3 collectors edition they wanted too much money. But I think I will be able to get the GT 5 collectors edition on launch because of the 20$ Amazon credit. You gotta love amazon.
I agree with the $80.00 thing...sort of. Where I live a hot seller cost $80.00 ( 69.99+ tax ) already for the standard game all tho Halo Reach is $59.99 for some reason. Doesn't matter, the Legendary Edition is definitely the one to get but $150.00 is steep. The $399.00 new 360 S 250gb, 2 controller, headset and reg game looks really nice as well. Here's bungie unboxing the new bundles...WoW... http://www.youtube.com/watc... BTW...does anybody know if McFarland will be offering a line of Noble team action figures. I'm sure Lego will but my kid has already seen the Legendary set and has his heart set on that damn thing...lol.
It's a great looking set, however I would not pay 150$ for it. I am looking forward to paying 150$ for the Call of Duty PS3 super duper edition.
$20 and $60 for 2 armor dlc...really?
There are people out there that will pay that.
Overpriced as hell.
Meh!!! Waste of money.
I sold a dlc avatar chocoboo on ebay for $15. This item was free to me. There is a market for tgis type of dlc. But, a flaming helmet in a halo game in it's first year for $60!? That is low. Give it one week and have nots will be scrambeling around the internet looking to buy. And no... I am not selling my flaming helmet code or elite armour. I will be giving one Of the two elite armour codes away though.
