This Day in History: Sony's PlayStation Launches in the U.S.

On this day in 1995, exactly 15 years ago, Sony's original PlayStation console was launched in the United States, birthing what many would consider the modern era of home videogames.

The story is too old to be commented.

The Playstation was stole the spotlight from the far superior N64. . A whole era of boring teenagers thinking it was "cool". Everything from the awkward controller to the long load times. Sure there were some good franchises on the system - Tomb Raider comes to mind - but the best Tomb Raider games were the 3 that appeared later on the Xbox 360.

Honestly, can you name a game on the Playstation that was more fun then Super Mario 64? Star Fox 64? ocarina of time? Golden-eye? Perfect Dark? NOPE.
