For ages the Wii’s controller has been its unchallenged point of difference, and as we approach Christmas both Sony and Microsoft plan to eat into that margin. Their strategies could not be more of a contrast.
It's clear who the winner was this generation...Microsoft.
lol You are going to lose so many Bubble buddy. I think you know that though, right?
i don't get it though. yeah microsoft has gotten a big chunk of the market. but the ps3 is still a better machine. so are we basing which is better by system or are we just cheering for companies now?
Why do these people make accounts less than a week ago just to troll? wow....
Its clear to us that you're trolling. and that you are a weak troll.
"Was"? Are you suggesting this gen is over?
Well I think the winner is nintendo. While kinect and move are better than the wii remote, nintendo made the smart move of including it with the wii. that got them massive sales. i don't think people want to spend 300 bucks for a console and then 100 for the controller.
Anyways What the Hell has the Wii gotta do with the this It aint a Next Gen console It's an Embarrestment
You're an "embarrestment".
If your console wins, do you automatically get to play the envied "Console Gen Winner" video game or something? Right now, I only care about which console has the best games.
both Sony and Microsoft plan to eat into that margarine
Wii > PS3 = 360 Success wise. And it's got nothing to do with what the consoles do, how many exclusives they have, or so on. It's the audience they targeted.
95% of people who want motion control have already bought and will continue to buy the Nintendo Wii. Microsoft and Sony are just fighting over scraps. They should have just waited until they launched their next consoles so they could have implemented the tech from the beginning.
"They should have just waited until they launched their next consoles so they could have implemented the tech from the beginning." Nothing wrong with building up an install base for motion controls this gen and then launching with them included next gen, especially if they use the same tech so everyone who already had the peripherals can just use them next gen if needed.
idk about that i bought a wii the first week it came out, beat it and sold it. cause no games interested me. ive been waiting for an hd wii. and the ps3 is going to offer it in one week i cant wait
why do i get the disagrees?
Did I miss something did M$ wave the white flag or something, and decided to rally the troops for another onslaught against the impenetrable fort that is Sony's PS3 :)!Kinetic will be massacred by the move, I mean who wants to pay $150 for lagfest shovelware and look like a tit playing it. Yessss I love my PS3
Most likely the majority of ps3 and 360 owners aren't going to spend money on an add on this late in the generation I know I'm not and I know many others who are the same way. People who like the idea of motion controls bought a Wii. Most of the core PS3 games that are getting Move support have had previous titles that worked just fine with the dual shock 3 so for most people why would they want to make another sizable investment to gain motion controls when the game already plays fine with a regular controller. Also who wants to buy another copy of Resident Evil 5, Heavy Rain etc just to get move support if they already own the original games. And remember Sony tried to build up their install base for DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION late in the psp's lifespan with the PSP GO too and we all see how that turned out with major 3rd party developers not supporting it and a lot of good games not going up on the psn network. You should do stuff like motion controls or dd at the beginning of a lifecycle to make sure you get the support you need from developers and so consumers can be aware from the beginning. I mean you wouldn't expect microsoft to add a blu ray player to the 360 this late in the gen would you so they can build up an "install base" that would just be dumb on their part.
Obviously Move>Wii, the only difference is precision and responsiveness and we will need to wait and see what Kinect can do as it is different. Liking Move will be the only reason I buy Killzone 3 when I eventually get a PS3. I think I'll like it.
Sony said this generation isn't a race it's a marathon but i think that's a understatement it's more like a ironman triathlon.
