The format wars return

For ages the Wii’s controller has been its unchallenged point of difference, and as we approach Christmas both Sony and Microsoft plan to eat into that margin.

Their strategies could not be more of a contrast.

It's clear who the winner was this generation...Microsoft.

i don't get it though. yeah microsoft has gotten a big chunk of the market. but the ps3 is still a better machine. so are we basing which is better by system or are we just cheering for companies now?

"Was"? Are you suggesting this gen is over?

Viddharto2652d ago

Well I think the winner is nintendo. While kinect and move are better than the wii remote, nintendo made the smart move of including it with the wii. that got them massive sales. i don't think people want to spend 300 bucks for a console and then 100 for the controller.

Anyways What the Hell has the Wii gotta do with the this

It aint a Next Gen console
It's an Embarrestment

HeroXIV2652d ago

You're an "embarrestment".

GWAVE2652d ago

If your console wins, do you automatically get to play the envied "Console Gen Winner" video game or something?

Right now, I only care about which console has the best games.

both Sony and Microsoft plan to eat into that margarine

Wii > PS3 = 360

Success wise.

And it's got nothing to do with what the consoles do, how many exclusives they have, or so on. It's the audience they targeted.
