Kudo Tsunoda talks to IncGamers about Microsoft's motion controller. He reveals what the plans post-launch are as well as whether he is worried about the current Xbox 360 owners and their reaction for the titles confirmed for the controller.
Still going to be pricey...
Kinect will revolutionize gaming as we know it. 3D..BAh, Move...Bah, Wii XD!
Haha, 3d BAh? you know Kinect is a "3D" camera, so you must support 3D on some level if you praise Kinect.
=3 I doubt kinect will revolutionize anything except get a record for "Most Money spent of marketing peripheral" well, Tsunoda is going at it well, good to see he supports it, but I fear for him if it bombs =S he's betting all his eggs on this! AW DAMN I PROMISED NO MORE KINECT ARTICLES! but they are sho entertaining (thanks to funny Kudo's and people like you mr. Leeroy =D)
On-railed, laggy, and glitcy gesture recognition are what 360 gamers consider revolutionary?
for the price it better be worth it but from what I've seen of it looks great!
hmmm still not bought on it yet, will just have to wait until I get to go hands-on before i take the plunge
I won't read the article but can already guess what he's going to say "Kinect is innovative" "Kinect has hardcore games at launch" "Kinects can't b done anywhere else" etc....
Did you expect them to say Otherwuse?
the truth would be a start
This guy has a affinity for large sunglasses, florescent track suits and regurgitating facts about PS2 Eyetoy tech. I mean really, I think it's easier to look at the bottom of my own foot, rather than use Kinect for it.
when you have to discuss POST LAUNCH before a product launches, just shows you what sad shape and how premature the launch is.. (to be fair Motion is almost as bad, since there will be REAL games you can play with it, way before you will with Kin)
How will voice recognition work in a house with a bad ass sound system? I know I like to play games with the sound blasting.
that Kudo is really a teenage female trapped in a mans? body. He needs to go back to vocabulary school and find other words instead of LIKE or SUPER.
well at least he admits they are aiming for the casual market to start with
'It’s funny that we talk about core users. Everyone really defines core users in a different way. I think its weird that somehow now core gamers are defined as people that like shooting things; its all about shooters or its all about chopping people in half! I really believe that what gamers really like is a very skill-based gameplay or games that have a lot of depth to them, and I think that’s the great thing about Kinect.' Best selling game on 360 anyone? MW2, second best selling game Halo 3... get the idea, core gamers like shooting things not just for the skill but instant gratification... in a race it takes 9 minutes to win, in a shoot out it taken 2 seconds to kill... Skill? That usually means accuracy, something Natal doesn't have... you mention your launch line-up let's mention it again? * Kinect Adventures (Microsoft Game Studios) * Kinectimals (Frontier Studio/Microsoft Game Studios) * Kinect Joy Ride (Big Park/Microsoft Game Studios) * Kinect Sports (Rare/Microsoft Game Studios) * Dance Central (MTV Games) * Your Shape: Fitness Evolved (Ubisoft) * EA Sports Active 2 (EA) * Deca Sports Freedom (Hudson) * Dance Masters (Konami) * Adrenalin Misfits (Konami) * Zumba Fitness (Majesco) * Sonic Free Riders (Sega) * The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout (THQ) * Motion Sports (Ubisoft) * Game Party: In Motion (Warner Bros.) Sounds like fun and the sort of games that do really well on 360/SARCASM I mean look at the shear number of sports/dance/party games. 'Quite frankly I’m a core gamer, I’ve being worked in games for 15 years and I have played games my whole life. ' The Playstation is 15 today... strange :P 'I think that even as a core gamer when I get a new game I hate having to go through the one hour control tutorial just to find out how the frigging controls work.' ONE HOUR? What game are you play MechWarrior for the XBOX? It's like ten minutes AT THE MOST... it's basically this Analogue sticks are movement, D-PAD is selection, Face buttons are crouch. reload. jump. The trgger are usually shoot and aim. 'I think that when we talk about Kinect being accessible it doesn’t mean shallow or lacking in depth or skill'- Kinda does, most people aren't skilled, hence the point of skill. If everyone could paint excellent then you wouldn't call the Mona Lisa a peak of a person skilled work would you? The same goes for games... if everyone could play SC2 at diamond then TLO wouldn't have skill. 'It’s all very sophisticated technology certainly and full body tracking is something that that nobody else besides Microsoft has been able to do yet.' Except the company you bought last year who had identical tech... and the PSeye :P 'We’ve got a Microsoft research department that is like 1000 scientists that are just awesome working on solving super hard technical problems and we are able to take a lot of the research and work and incorporate it into the development of Kinect. ' Really? You do realize for major global Warming stuff they have 2,500 scientists... also the word you are looking for is employees... it'd be wise to get an engineer also to you know CHECK YOU DAMN PRODUCTS BEFORE THEY ARE RELEASED!
I just look at that launch list and LMAO, Fable or Socom type REAL games need to be on the list.... talk about catering to the near non gaming crowd....and you now know why I after being a charter gold member aint renewing it anymo.. just dont have the games
