Apparently Amazon is looking to take gaming very seriously, as they’ve just snatched Microsoft’s director of game platform strategy Andre Vrignaud, which Vrignaud revealed via his personal blog.
Amazon app for 360?
Which you'd need to be a gold member of xbox live to use.
Definately not a good sign for Microsoft.
Good luck to him. It sounds like he’s had a bunch of success with Microsoft and Xbox and simply wants to take up another challenge. Hopefully it will work out well for the Xbox platform as well. Someone coming in to this new role with fresh ideas and new ways of looking at things could be just what the Xbox needs.
Or he's jumping at the $krilla...! Dolla Dolla Bill, Y'all!
Wow, Amazon with the interception!! . . . they could. go. all. the. way.
I thought you said "Inception." Amazon incepted him.
You know what would be awesome? Direct to drive amazon app on the 360!
NOOOOOOOO!!!! Former MS employee.....now at Amazon!! Better NOT raise the prices like they've done with xbox live.....stay away from the game credits too!!
I'm sorry, but that is a horrible title.
'Game Platform Strategy' Doesn't quite make sense to me, as a job title.
Sounds like one of kevin Butler's titles.
Kevin Butler - V.P. of Correcting Titles
crazy, but great for Amazon
So... is this the guy who refocused all of MS's 1st party studios to do Kinect stuff over the past couple years?
Out with the bum! LOL
So Amazon is going to start paying for timed exclusives???
I want to see just what the hell Amazon is trying to do? And why does everyone feel the need to get into the gaming market? It's already over-saturated. How about everyone just stops making games and SEGA brings back the Dreamcast so I can die happy ... and alone.
Definitely Amazon is dipping its pen in the company ink... Digital game selling or maybe direct2drive kinda thing? The job posting says the project involves "inventing and building a new type of technology for customers."
