NowGamer: Voltion has explained why the action in upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon will be less open-world than that in Red Faction: Guerrilla...
red faction 1 and 2 were my fav fps along with halo n timesplitters but i think they ruined the game not by going 3rd person but going open world
the fact that I could tunnel through or blow up nearly everything in Red Faction 1&2 really was a great appeal. The whole 3rd person perspective and mission system really showed that they were abandoning the fans of the previous games and this new one continues on that. Doesn't look like a bad game but still disappointed in the gameplay shift.
instead of finding a key card for a door i just tunneled round it. definitley the best destruction in a game ever
I liked Red Faction on PS2, didn't care for Red Faction 2 on PC, and LOVED Red Faction: Guerilla on 360. I'm not sure about this but it looks cool and Volition has been kicking ass for a while now.
Guerrilla got boring after a bit, no story, repetitive. Expect Armageddon to do better regarding these points.
The actual story was never involved with Alec Mason (the main character) but with Sam (the girl) that had influence with the Marauders because of the Nano Forge that was the whole point for the story to progress. I wished they could had more story involving the marauders
Just let us tunnel through rock again and I'll forget the last 2 games existed.
