Preview coverage of Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - Desctructoid, Kotaku, Shacknews and more

At first glance, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction isn't a huge departure from the four games that preceded it. Hands-on impressions from this year's E3 were overwhelmingly positive, but many gamers echoed the same sentiments: It's simply a new and solid Ratchet and Clank title from Insomniac Games. Nothing wrong with that, really -- Insomniac has consistently delivered amazing shooter/platformer titles, marked by clever humor, solid production values, and gameplay variety that makes most developers cry themselves to sleep at night.

Ratchet and Clank has always been my favorite platform game. With Tools of Destruction around the corner it doesn't look like that is going to change.

Combat, platforming, racing and puzzle solving all in one package.

I play the combat and puzzles and my wife plays the racing and platforming sections :-)

Easily 60 hours of gameplay per game (except for deadlocked).

Yeah Deadlocked was short but then it was more a multiplayer game. Either way I glad I rented it instead of buying it. Not much into multiplayer deathmatches.

hmm, they sound kind of like the Super Stardust controls for space battles. Guess that means I am not going to do very well in those parts.

REally looking forward to this game, though. hope we get a demo towards the end of next month.

and I had a ps2. I always thought it was a bit kiddie, maybe I'm wrong. I'll rent this one to check it out if I have time.

Great looking game

I am blown away everytime I see new pics. Great
Can't wait to play this. Played two of the games, had fun and beat them. I always pass them off as kiddie. But one thing is for sure. the Gameplay is very addictive for some reason

I can't wait to pick this one up
