Kotaku: Brian R. Wood, lead designer of Company of Heroes Online and a key player in the development of the series as a whole, was tragically killed on Friday night in an automobile accident north of Seattle.
Condolences to his family and friends if they ever stumble on to this article
you helped make a great game r.i.p
Damn, i was looking for more COH.
You entertained us all with your games. Thank you.
That's sad, RIP. What really sucks is, someone like him dies, but some murderer or rapist goes on living. There is no justice.
That comment i stupid. As to say he was killed on purpose.
To think that the game just went on sale on Steam.
Wait, Company of Heroes... Online? Never mind my last comment.
He actually had a large role to play in the original CoH games as well. A true visionary, someone who could turn the apparent complicatedness of an RTS into something so pick up and play
A friend of mine died a few years ago because of another driver, it was devastating, for me and everyone else he knew. Terrible way to die.
In other news, Company of Heroes developer Relic Entertainment is now hiring for a recently vacated lead designer position.
I hope a close member of your family dies you insensitive prick
What? It's the truth. Check out their website. Just helping the aspiring game designers connect the dots.
Your no better, wishing that upon people.
God this sucks so bad Company of Heroes is easily the most accessible RTS I have ever played. If you're an RTS noob, go get CoH Online. It's free and has the entire first campaign thrown in. I however will be buying a few microtransactions, it's the only way to support that dudes family. I could go all preachy about shitty DUI laws, but I'll just say that I hope that woman and her family is looked after by Relic and all those around her
we hardly get actual real news on here and when we do is almost always the worst kind. my thoughts go out to the wife and unborn child. r.i.p brian
CoH stands today as one of the best RTS games ever created, I was in disbelief when playing through it for the first time, it has a 93 on metacritic (same as SC2). I hope his family, friends, and team find condolences.
hopefully he can fight his way out of hades.. safe passage to the afterlife. R.I.P
May his soul rest in peace and may he not be forgotten by his family and friends. COH was a wonderful game Brian, thank you for your contribution to our gaming community.
Requiescat en pace
RIP and wish the best to his family and friends this guy was amazing at his job CoH was one of the best RTS games i have ever played and the fact it was in WW2 and caught the moments perfectly was amazing. Please everyone buy the game you can get Company of hero`s along with the 2 expansion packs on steam now for $12.50. If you can get that the first one is only $2.50 and other other packs well worth the money and i can bet alot of the money will go towards the family of this beloved game developer`s family.
RIP mr Great game designer. I hope you having fun in RTS heaven
=(, He was an awesome dev.
Thanks for a very great game.
One of my top 5 RTS games I've ever played, RIP Brian.
