Ironstar: Sony has released some new PlayStation Move box arts that distinguish PSMove titles from non-Move titles.
Good lord, I hope that's just temporary... it takes up far too much space and, if it's going to be on every compatible game, it's going to be a real mess... look at the Tiger Wood box... now add the 3D logo onto it as well.
It's not that bad, notice the PlayStation Network logo as well, it's on the bottom.
I hope those are for US, they suck big time, cant they put it on plastic wrap? why this glowing blue color? it's games not teen magazine cover
Takes up too much space. Maybe they should just change the colour of the packaging or something to indicate PS Move compatible games, like instead of transparent make the top red or blue or something.
Ya, that thing is fucking giant
Why can't they just use stickers. These boxarts are cluttered with too much crap. If your buying the game you should already know if it's in 3d or move compatible. There is already a place on the back of the box for the features just put it there.
OMFG, If thats just for Move Titles, Imagine the Dead Space 2 box art!!!!
Urgh... I sincerely hope this is not going to appear on all the Move compatible core games. You know, the ones we actually want to play? :)
Do you play the picture or the game? I agree that it looks fairly ugly and tacked on. They could do a better job integrating it though, but in the end I support Sony's move to advertise their new accessory. Success for Sony means better, bigger games for us.
i don't have a prob with the position, just with the shape it is half a circle, why could they make it straight and tab like to match with the top part
...is supposed to tie in to the PlayStation Move Remote's sphere at the end. It's a rather intelligent use of branding if you ask me.
Agree with you 100%. +Have a bubble+ ^_^ Maybe they will switch to just showcasing the move symbol in future box arts revamps. ::shrugs::
But I have a feeling that as of right now, Sony is trying to tell the consumer, "Hey, look at all the move compatible games you can play! It's not just casual, but core games as well!" In the future, they will probably make the Move advertisement a little less loud once consumers are more familiar with the Move and it's compatibility.
... it’s just box art. most people only display their games with the spine facing out anyway. It will look bad in the stores, but why should that matter to you? The only people it should matter to are people who may be buying it for their kids or something, and in that case, they really do need to know it’s for the move.
i didnt know The Fight Lights out was 3D compatible
Ugh. Horrible. Hope it's just concept. on gamestops website, there lots of different types displayed. some with the orb, some without. The orb isn't too innoying on Move Required games. but seeing that on the KZ2 or Infamous 2 boxarts isn't good.
its probably not that.i think its either a sticker on the plastic wrap or something. look at the ps move unboxing on the psblog and you can see its just a blue line and a small square on the spine.
...the Sports Champions unboxing was just old packaging that was printed before the new design.
Damn they're really starting to mess up the packaging. Talk about clutter! I'm all for it though if it means less informed people making wrong purchases. I can almost imaging a grandma going in the store buying a Wii controller or something for Sports Champions...lol... :p
I hope this is just a joke (as im actually laughing) ... from an artistic standpoint (love art and as such am an Artist) this is in no way whatsoever appealing at all, trust me- box art (the back included) is "one" of the most important aspects of selling games people (casuals, hardcore, me) should know nothing of. For instance if your looking through a stock of games, the most appealing box art, colors in your preference, etc. automatically grabs your attention (not saying I buy it because of it, but that it peaks my interest) and that giant smear there is in no way appealing (IMO). I couldnt imagine a Kz game (For instance) with that giant smear on it... then again this coming from someone who skims through every game he owns Box Art in a giant breath of satisfaction that it indeed was a very worthy purchase (most of the time) & the boxart only compliments it even more so. That thing does not.. All in all that giant smear has got to go o.O' lol @Quagmire: I too share your pain lol
I actually like it, although the Tiger Woods one looks terrible with all the small text.
