TVGB: "Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption has to date sold 6.9 million copies worldwide, publisher Take-Two’s quarterly financial results, released today, show."
And it deserves every one of em. I can't believe this game was actually close to being canceled.
Amazed they sold that many considering how buggy that POS was. PS3 version. Sitting at the poker table when all the characters faces disappear. They're just sitting there talking with no faces! And yet it still got high marks. BS! Good game but that shit was rushed out the door.
The fuck did I just write? lol Anyways. RDR was still a buggy POS but the story and acting were superb.
Agreed! One of the very few games I have yet to trade in after finishing.
and only 10% of those proceeds are for R* Take-Two must be ROTFL.
The Poker glitch doesn't happen all the time. Every game has glitches, nothing in Red Dead was devastating nor did they hinder the game, I laughed at them. It doesn't take away, for me, how great the game is. It's the best Western game of all time.
I had very mixed feelings. Red Dead Dull was the biggest dissapointment this generation. Most of the game was just dull, and boring. The game doesn't even deserve to sell 250k. On the other hand I am always glad to see a game in a non WWII historical setting sell a ton of copies. As that means we will get more games in historicals settings. So my feellings are mixed on this, but overall I am happy because it means more games in historical settings in the future.
I bet you love Halo and CoD don't you ?
I actually just finished it this week. This is the first game in a long time that I really took my time to finish. Wow is all I can say. I'm a grown man, and I'm heavily impacted by this one. Hope they sell even more.
GTA with horses. So what?
You know what they did blasphemers back in the old west, right? :)
That's like saying Halo Reach is Killzone 2 with bad graphics. There is a lot more of a difference than your ignorance wants you to know.
Nice to see a game outside the FPS genre get such high sales. Now if more gamers bought other types of games then we'd have more variety the rest of this gen and into the next.
My second favorite game of this gen right after Uncharted 2. What a fantastic game. It never gets boring even after you finish the game. The whole world Rockstar has created this time is just phenomenal. I don't think I've been so attached to a game world since San Andreas. It's the first R* game I've gotten 100% on. The multiplayer is glitchy but in a funny way and the maps aren't really cut out for multiplayer but that doesn't stop it from being fun and addictive.
I agree whole heartedly. I expect the sequel, if there is one, to be amazing. The Multiplayer was the only part for me that could have been better.
spot on. i thought the free roam part of the multiplayer was awesome just not the deathmatch part. started playing it again this last week to get 100% and just to ride around in the world.
lifetime sales for this game should be well over 10million its hard to believe 7 million and its been out only for a few months
best games this gen i traded it away but if they release any story dlc thta's 8 jours or longer i will buy it again
for having one of the most devastating endings in video game lore. I'm thrilled that it is selling so excessively.
Because Red Dead Redemption sure deserves it, must have imo!
Oldsnake do you have a reading disability. What part of "I am always glad to see a game in a non WWII historical setting sell a ton of copies. As that means we will get more games in historicals settings." Do you not understand. I have never ever played Halo a game(despite owning a Xbox, and a 360) as I had no interest in Sci-Fi games, and I have HATED the COD franchise since COD3 because it became a MP game with SP tacked on after COD2. Red Dead Dull just wasn't fun. Gun was far more fun then Red Dead Dull, but again there is a part of me that is happy for the sales as I know it means more non WWII games in historical settings.
Great game memorable SP fun MP R* really are rock stars...
game was too easy
& i truely appreciate the amount of hard work Rockstar puts in to the making of their brilliant games.
Deserves even more :) Incredible game, put close to 60 hours into the single player alone
Great game, Rockstar really rocks ,they make really awesome games
Attention to detail that is nearly unmatched. Its insane actually. The other day I was playing and it started to rain, first Jack actually comments on the fact its raining, then I go around on my horse and there's a bird in a little corner, shaking the water off its body. WHY?! Why would they animate that? Because Rockstar are fucking Rockstars. Not to mention the ending to this game was, imo, the most emotionally powerful moment I've experienced in any game this generation. Cant wait for the next GTA, Max Payne 3, Agent, and LA Noire.
the ending was awesome. but play shadow of the colossus for the most emotional ending ever
Great game but what we need is a PC version with superior visuals.
Damn! Thats impressive!
i bought it.. never really got into it though
Game of the year so far for me.
