Thirteen years after release, Rare has revealed that they didn't actually want to make classic N64 shooter GoldenEye when they were first approached by Nintendo, admitting that the team thought the game was "going to be a disaster".
the fact that they named the new bond game after goldeneye is a slap in the face to the n64 classic....
not really have you re played the classic its actually pretty meh now besides there was another game with golden eye in the name i think it was called rogue agent that game was a total pile of shit
it was not a disaster but the remake will be a disaster
It's funny that you know this being that the game isn't even out yet. 7_7
its funny how u need the friend code to play online with your friends on the wii
PC gamers had and still have higher standards when it comes to FPS.
PC gamers also have the best abs.
Gabe Newell says no to your Ab comment.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. At the time I was both a PC gamer and a console gamer and was wondering why the game was so popular when games like Quake were around. It made no sense to me.
huh thats weird I played golden eye on the n64 and quake 3 arena next. golden eye was great for console controlls and actualy halo copies it almost to the t. You have to remember what quake 3 maps looked like back then lol. Also every one was not gfx whores then game play matter which is why epic always struggled. Oh yeah have any of you guys played the new version it sweet.
halo controls do not copy GE. In GE Strafe and look up/down were on the c buttons, and the stick was forward and turn. Halo the left stick is strafe and forwards/backwards and the other is aim. Turok on N64 controls more like halo and pc fps with the c-buttons acting like WASD on the keyboard, and the stick aiming. GE was a great FPS, especially considering what they did with a n64.
I never play with the default setup. I forgot which one I used but when I played halo I was like wow it's almost the same. I like straf th turning while aiming. Like I said I was playing pc and dreamcast. It did feel like golden eye to me though.
Nobody would of bought it either.
the original was good and still the elements of gameplay still stack up today, not sure about the remake on wii,i didnt like it from wot i seen of it.
nope. next to doom, this was the shyt. and i'm not a fps fan
And would still be the shit if my friend had more controllers for his N64 and an actual copy of the game.
Best console FPS ever I have to say. We played last weekend, and we still had fun.
it might be fun but the awkwardness of aiming is similar to using the PS Move but with a joystick.
Without a doubt one of the best console first person shooters to date in my opinion. I had countless hours of fun playing that game and my teenage boys did as well. If the remake were done right it could be a thing of beauty.
oh yeah rare sucks and will always suck now, so yeah it would have been a disaster.
how can you judge the game when it hasnt even been fucking released yet! besides, all the coverage has been positive so far, so what are you winging about! even if the game got 10/10 and was proclaimed the benchmark for future fps' some prick would still complain.
