NowGamer: Dead Rising 2 producer and Capcom legend Keiji Inafune thinks that Canada could become the 'epicentre' of global videogame development...
UBISOFT MONTREAL AND BIOWARE(edmonton) CANADA IN THE HOUSE! Shoutout to Every Canadians on N4G! even CanadianGamer ! NUFF SAID.
Not to mention EA Sports in BC, Eidos Montreal (Dues Ex), THQ Montreal and Relic in BC.
Also Rockstar Toronto, nicely tucked away in Oakville, aboot 10 minutes drive from my place.
now has a huge studio in Toronto as well
And EA also have offices here in Montreal. I remember speaking to a guy who works for them back in January and he had confirmed to me that Mass Effect would be released for the PS3 next year.
Vancouver Represent! PEACE, and I'm out!
disagrees are AMERICANS who mad that they lost against canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
for the summer Olympics.
Silly darx.. there's no Hockey in the summer Olympics.
About Canada beating us in Hockey, Canada's hockey team is much more talented than the US hockey team. The talent difference is probably not on the same level as the US basketball team compared to the rest of the world, but it is still enough that the US shouldn't be expected to beat Canada by my fellow Americans. On topic, Canada has some excellent developers and anybody that would say otherwise is a moron.
Duhhh! Its only the best sport in the world bro....
hell yeah! I live about 30-40 minutes from montreal. Big load of development here, but one of the biggest incentive is the income tax credit, especially in the province of quebec. You know it's rather strange when ubi montreal is bigger in size and employees than that of its headquarters in France. I've seen once where ubisoft mtl is located. It's not really an inviting neiborghood, but inside it's like an old condo/loft with wooden floors. Pretty cool.
Bioware are Canadian? Didn't know that
exactly (@read Original thread post)(and @people being ignorant of how many industry leaders are in Canada, especially montreal), if it weren't for the fuckups at Silicon Knights (with the utmost respect, meaning they need to not overestimate hardware and software platforms, or that they have an audience for whatever they put out there) and Koei TO not releasing anything recently.. hint hint.. wink wink.. aww.. who am I kidding, no one else wants Fatal Inertia 2, 3D, open world....
Hell yeah canada!
Canadian and British developers are among the best.
Yeah if only EA would have left them alone.. Activision + Rare/Lionhead FTW, instead they are making kiddie games... so sad. I mean Just look how activision saved Bizarre.. :P mm blur.
I A M C A N A D I A N [n4g removed my fancy spacing]
... and damn proud of it! :D
Are you aware that both of you exist thanks to europeans? Calling yourselves names is a joke.
America vs Canada is a internal family matter...you European need to stay out of this :)
yeah pity Australia is so far away and basically out of the game dev spotlight.. or we could make fun of them too.
Lol Canada is pretty awesome, I love Ubisoft and Bioware :) Quality of Developers based on how good there games are and impact on the industry and gaming in general: British > American > Canadian > European (general) > Japanese. But hey, I'm bias.
European developers kick ass, why the hate for the mainlanders?
well look what was allowed to happen to Rare, Lionhead, and what's happening to Crytek. Where's the bad momma euro Publishing giant to keep EA out? like 1C rofl.
I really had to laugh at this: "Canada is part of North America so you can sort of [include it as] North American". Sort of?! Is this guy for real?! >_< Anyway... I'm extremely proud of all the amazing talent we have in Canada, especially here in Montreal.
