Fishy is right. I own Pacific Rift and bought 3D Rift so I had more 3D content to show off and mess around with.
3D games are great, but as an early adopter, you're in part paying for the rights to show off. With 3D, there is very little content available, so I'm more than willingly scooping up every last tidbit.
It was the same with the Bluray haters, who would want to pay extra for that they say, never realising you just shelled out for the latest TV, you want to have content to utilise it.
I saw the best slogan for Bluray on an ad the other day and it applies here too. Without Bluray, you HDTV is just a TV.
Gedditt? I dint buy a 1080p just to watch SD DVD's and SD free to air TV. I wanted HD material. Same as someone who payed 2 grand for a 3D TV will likely get this upgrade to play a great game in 3D.
WOW WOW I LOVE IT !!!! 3D IS AMAZING!!!! FEELS LIKE IM ACTUALLY LOOKING AT THE REAL ENVIROMENT!!!! I DONT KNOW WHY MOVIE THEATER SET THE 3D DEPTH ONLY 15 PERCENT?? THEY SHOULD RAISE THE DEPTH HIGHER SO MAKES IT MORE REAL 3 DIMENTION!!!!
"No online multiplayer, only a portion of the vehicles and tracks found in Pacific Rift, might seem like an expanded demo if you don't have the tools for 3-D."
3D TVs... At an electronics tradeshow recently I played a demo of 3D Motorstorm and it was absolutely incredible.
I also played Arkham Asylum on an Xbox 360 in 3D on an LG 3D TV that will "upscale" any video source to 3D. It was also impressive, even though the original source material was only 2D. I saw a similar demo with a Samlung LED 3D TV watching a prerecorded hockey game upscaled to 3D (and the TV was only an inch thick, holy crap!).
So I am not sure exactly why games will have to be "remastered" to 3D when it seems the majority of 3D TVs coming out will have the ability to generate a fairly impressive 3D image from 2D source material all on their own.
because upscalling is no were near as good, its like upscalling a 720 pic to full hd it looks good but not as good as it should.. you dont get stuff coming out, and the depth is ok but not spectacular, today i was on avatar the game in 3d and i looked down a corridor and it looked like the corridor went a foot behind my tv in to the wall behind
xbl/psn-dylantalon this game is more than worth the price. The people that would hate this deal are the people that are jealous they don't have a 3dtv which is just sad . after playing ms 3d rift, I know the developers worked really hard on the 3d effect more so than the level that's in the demo version because it looks amazing and smooth in 3d.
i have to say that the performance in this compared to pacific rift is a whole lot better. i'm betting they couldn't convert some of the tracks to work as well so they had to not do a patch or leave them out of this title. but yea motorstorm has never ran so smooth...not even a single dropped frame in (apparent) sight, which would be required for good 3d pretty much. it also looks upgraded a bit too, the explosions look better than what i can recall
It's not really the best bang for your buck, but if I had 3D now, I'd be tempted, just to get some use out of my new TV.

Either way, Apocalypse will rule in 2011.
I'm confused :(
Expecialy since I don't have the MS2 game.

Bubble me please
If not, well, you get the picture. It is called 3D Rift. :D
To the guy who said he played batman in 3D on the XBOX...YEAH RIGHT only the PS3 can do 3D clown...move on troll
he was talking about upscalling, anything can do it even skytv can. the xbox could do 3d if it had hdmi 1.4 but it doesn't.
ouch, this game fails again ( like all exclusives of ps3)
they would have called it a full retail exclusive..
Well duh.
