Once again the staff here at Spawn Kill got together to each pick just one of our most favorite RPGs - which was no easy task. However, we all managed to settle on one title to represent some of our favorite moments in gaming.

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

Insomniac roadmap leaked a while ago and they are making another, they’re doing the best they can and these games, especially the last two, are master pieces

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5
2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
It's so cruel to make people only pick one RPG...

Some very interesting choices. I enjoyed Final Fantasy VIII so it was a pretty good suprise to see it up there as well as Persona 4 (I liked 3 better), and Xenosaga (Xenogears is one of my favorites)as well as Dragon Quest IX.
It really is hard to pick just one and I doubt that I ever could, from Valkyria Chronicles, Suikoden and Persona to Dragon Age, Fallout and Knights of the Old Republic I enjoy all types of RPGs so it was nice to see some unexpected choices in this list.
Someone needs to explain why JRPGs are so popular. is it just the anime characters? are the stories better? the fantasy settings? i have a hard time getting into them because they take forever to start. FF7 was the only one that i played a lot of and it was because everyone liked it so much. It was ok, i never finished it but thats only cause of the random battles. otherwise i can see why ppl liked it, i dont remember being upset because it was so slow at the start but i could be wrong about that.
