IGN: Gamescom: Killzone 3 Multiplayer and PlayStation Move Preview

Killzone 3 is the culmination of not only everything Guerrilla's learned throughout the many years the developers have been working on the franchise, but also a showcase for Sony's Move and 3D technology. To see this first hand, IGN tried out both the new additions Killzone 3 is bringing to multiplayer as well as the game's Move controls.

The Multiplayer will be so awesome.

It looks sweet. Killzone 2 ended on a tense note so I'm eager to continue the storyline in KZ3.

Mechas + jetpacks online= NERDGASM!!!!

I hope they don't add aim assist to try and Balance out move vs Dualshock players. One of the reason why i loved Killzone 2 was because to get a kill required skill and no aim assist helping out.

LOL.

"In practice, I thought the Move controls functioned well, but I don't think I'll be using them over the DualShock. The biggest question in my mind is how they'll balance out Move vs. DualShock controls in online play? The DualShock controls will have to have just the right amount of aim assist to give them the edge they need to compete with the precision of the Move, and I don't envy the balancing that this is going to take."

I'm starting to hear cries from DS3 users being pwned left to right by MOVE owners. MAG is, also, gonna be very interesting when MOVE finally launches.

I have been saying for quite awhile that Move is going to be a beast for any game that aiming is involved. Even the Wiimote was a massive upgrade in accuracy in Resident Evil 4. Headshot after headshot. Aiming became very easy with that control scheme. And Move is much more precise than the Wiimote. I really hope that the analog stick warriors keep thinking that they are going to dominate all Move users at least until I can buy it and play against them.

I think eventually games will be using filters and options like UT III did to keep DS3 users safe.

I'll take the KZ3 and leave the Move and 3D. That trailer yesterday looked awesome.

ActionBastard3038d ago

I think it's awesome you can make that choice with the PS3. Seriously, you don't have to buy a 3D set or Move, but you can still enjoy KZ3 without either. Yesterday's trailer was awesome indeed.

Yeah, I hope the feel of it hasn't changed too much. I know everyone complained about it being "heavy" but that's kind of what I liked about it, it felt different from other FPS games.

ranmafandude3038d ago

everyone's eyes will become killzon3d lol.

Seeing KZ3 using Move (and it working really well) should silence any doubts of "core" games use, specifically FPSs. Now it's time to get glasses for my 3D set.

Can someone confirm if the bots mode from 1 and 2 has returned or has anyone commented on that?? Really loved that, playing offline was fun.

Chuk_Chuk3038d ago

I haven't heard any conformation but TBH, i don't think GG would take a step back and remove it.
