Full Video Review of the game "Mafia 2". Video review directed and produced by SchizophreNik.
Hmmm, yeah it looked like an 8-8.5 game. But, it's still awesome. I'm gong t buy this dy 1. But, what I want to know is how is the wanted system in thsi game? Is it like the GTA games?
so if this takes place during the 20's and 30's...where is the prohibition of alcohol? or did i miss that
that would be awesome having to super charge youre car to carry the alcohol and just letting loose on the road
You play as a WWII veteran, so prohibition is already over when the game takes place.
The game doesn't take place between the 20s and 30s. Like OpenGL said, you're a WWII vet, so this is after. ______ On another note. This isn't a legitimate review from what I see. Did they just use DEMO footage plus some previously released clips from 2k? Me thinks yes.
Its during the 40s and 50s, not 20s and 30s.
Like Explosion said. They reviewed the demo versions and used older clips from 2K. The real/final build reviews are still under embargo.
PC - the best platform go figure!
just reserved my copy, cant wait!
ROFL. Wow, hiding in the bushes. Who would've thought that'd actually work one day? This is a pretty funny review. From the looks of this I would've given it a 7.
"Great fighting mechanic" but only "decent shooting"? Hard punch, light punch, dodge....great fighting mechanics? IDK, am I the only one who was never a fan of these lock in fights with two attacks and a dodge/block button? Overall, it seemed like a pretty generous score anyway.
The fight mechanics are compotent, and serve there purpose. The figthing gameplay isn't exactly the bread and butter of the game, so it doesn't really matter that it's not exactly stellar. It's relatively satisfying to use the special finishes although a little repetative, which is really fine respective to how little hand-hand is done in the gameplay. I think that the shooting, is great though. Especially compared to the GTA games, Seriously, who needs lock on targeting? All the weapons were very satisfying in the demo, and aside a few issues here and there with how enemies responded to bullet impact (I shot a guy, on a bench, from above... he flew over the bench lol), it was real great to gun people down.
the wanted system is similar to GTA but i think its better 1 star -warning get a ticket 2 stars - get arrested 3 stars- get shot at with pistols 4 stars- get shoot at with tommy guns and shotguns 5-stars not sure what it is havent gotten that far haha
the wanted system is basically the same as gta series. the more mayhem you cause the higher your wanted level goes up and more cops come after you. but no helicopters or swat teams like gta though, lol
Did they just use the comparison in the demos for the graphics? I thought we already had this talk about final products?
Reviews were under embargo. Nobody else seem to have released their review.
They have in Europe.
At :41, why's it like something from a dev diary? It's like a screenshot from a 3D program. v_v And am I the only one who thinks a video review with no narration is retarded? v_v
"And am I the only one who thinks a video review with no narration is retarded?" that was the only thing i was thinking about while watching this, well that and how much more better the PC version looked, especially when they did the bathroom mirror comparision
Some pls delete this news... video's down.
This is the demo mixed in with a bunch of clips released by 2K. So basically this is a review based on the demo...Who ever made this video review has a career at Gamespot or Gameinformer
This isn't a legit review. All of the actual game play footage that was shown was from the demo. Whoever this guy is, he's just cheating us to get his site some hits.
Game Review my ass this is just the demo review and not a very good one leave it to the experts next time
THE PS3 HAS LOVELY GRASS SIMILAR TO XBOX IN FINAL VERSION HELLO CAN YOU HEAR MEEEEE
Would they leave it out only the PS3 demo? Unless they're trying to start a fanboy fight...in which...nicely played, people. Nicely played.
demo is old build. Pre E3. Honestly the lack of grass is by far the lesser problem. Lil to non AA, terrible framerate and screen tearing (game is barely playable) show the demo is quite early. It is expected the final build to be in much better shape. I have some hopes, some previews out there say those problems in the PS3 demo are not present in the final build. Regarding your question. I dont think they did it in purpose, it is just the PS3 version behind the others, as usually happens in multiplatform development. Regarding the article. I dont trust reviews of demos.
A lot of demos are based on older builds of the game. One example I can think of the top of my head is the GOWIII demo, which was a build almost a year old.
Read the site, take it all in.
...is a cold turd. 360, mildly warm. PC, steaming, baby!
So now we are reviewing demos and throwing in trailer CS? /wrists
... That is the demo. *facepalm* -.-
I don't see any gameplay from anything but the demo. Still a very well made and in-depth review. PC version is obviously king.
you will get disagree from fanboys as usual that have blind eyes just because you said the truth.
based upon the demo... 8 to 8.5 MAX
graphics comparison = pc>xbox>ps3, lets hope final product is better
Nice review. I guess this confirms I'll be getting the 360 version for graphics as well, not just for achievements and the controller.
Its a review of a DEMO, so it does not confirm anything about the graphics. I will pick this up for ps3 because of exclusive DLC, yup i just owned you. Now shoo back under your bridge, i said shoo!
you cant judge a game by demo
well you kind of can, thats what a demo is for, is it not?
Usually if you have a game flooded with f-bombs in the dialog and nudity as a reward token. Means there is noticeable flaws in a game. Use shock value to distract such things. Aside from that, this is a showcase demo. I guess those who are interested in purchasing this game will have to wait for a real review from the full game version.
Why has a demo review been passed off as a 'full game' review.
all I know is that if the ps3's version is like the demo I won't buy it because the demo had framerate problems, less detailed graphics, no AA, bad lip syncing. But all I experience in the demo gameplay was great and the demo actually got me into this game since I never cared for it since all the news about this game.
what a shitty review. the reviewer doesn't even talk.
