IncGamers: Gran Turismo 5 Hands-On Preview

IncGamers' James Chalmers gets behind the wheel of some of the most expensive cars in the world, digitally of course, as he test drives Gran Turismo 5. But from the latest preview build is it worth the wait?

From the preview:

"Driving enthusiasts and gamers alike will be in awe of the gameplay for Gran Turismo 5 and its true simulation of driving a car set in this lush environment. Each car looks like it was just picked up from the showroom and dumped straight into the different tracks of Gran Turismo 5 and I can see when the final game launches thousands of gamers spending hours upon hours just marvelling at these pieces of art before even taking them onto the track." (Gran Turismo 5, PS3)

Sounds like the 3D version was an after thought!

I don't know I wouldn't say that.... -but
I think it's more that the 3D tech in general is not really that good yet.. Not that I have seen GT5 in 3D, this is just my opinion based off of the movie Monsters which I saw on a 3DHDTV with the glasses... maybe it's better on PC with a strong graphics card, I don't know..

Now of course I could be wrong but just from what I've seen so far from the tech it's not really that impressive.. IMO (and these guys seem to be confirming exactly what I expected, that the 3D wouldn't be that good.) ..and again this is just my opinion I don't claim to be no 3D expect.

-but I'm sure the game it's self, is going to be amazing, and I can't wait, good to see that they seem to be getting close to the final build of this game... I can't wait to play it, I'm pretty sure this one will go down as another classic in the GT franchise..

I have been loving this game ever since I bought my first PlayStation, and this one looks like it will not disappoint..

Nov 2 can't get here soon enough for me...

"I suppose the term "if it ain't broke don’t fix it" can perhaps sum up this decision but despite some of the community begging for a R2 accelerator having the X button as the pedal it hasn’t stopped previous versions of Gran Turismo selling by the lorryload."

You can change it in the controller options, quite easily.

Edit:
"Only having a small number of tracks and cars on offer from the selection of over a 1,000 vehicles it’s hard to argue whether the depth is there for GT5."

There's around 70 tracks across 20 countries. And I doubt there's really a question of depth when it comes to GT...

Good article though
