Target done with Xbox 360 Core model

Although not mentioned as part of today's Xbox 360 price drop announcement, more evidence is coming in that the Xbox 360 Core model may be finished. An employee of a Target store took multiple images (sadly the clearest one is above) of the store's PDA showing the Core model as "discontinued" in the "status" bar at the top right.

So they are following the Sony with new model and price drop coming and the first basic model discontinued, But its only a rumor now but who knows?

I haven't seen it lately. I'm sure you can find it but the premium makes up over 80% of sales.

I think Microsoft wants to keep the Core to compete with the Wii for the casual gaming crowd.

price is not the only thing that the Wii has going for it.

I think more so than price, is the type of games you get for it.
If MS really want to compete against the Wii with the core, that would imply that core-specific games be created. And I don't see that happening.

That's actually sounds like an interesting idea...

Well if there isn't that much demand on the core model then it's only natural for companies to discontinue something if people are not interested.

However, a new redesigned Core model with HDMI is arriving. It will have a new SKU and replace the current Core model and SKU.

For the love of god, please drop the tardpack known as the core. Kinda silly of MS to even still have the core pack, its rubbish and should be dumped.
