EA: future of games industry is in hands of women developers

Speaking at the Education Summit at Siggraph this week, Electronic Arts' head of European talent acquisition, Matthew Jeffry, aimed to teach his audience a lesson about the future of videogames design by stating that "overwhelmingly male" development teams are hindering the growth of the industry.

He believes that more women in game development would freshen up the industry, saying that that the fact they are more in touch with their emotions would help create more believable virtual characters.

"Secondly, in project management, women are more attuned to equity in working practices, especially work-life balance," he added.
