With recent rumours that Activision were going to start charging for online Call of Duty play, I think this is a perfect time to bring up the Call of Duty franchise, and Activision as a company.
The better not charge for CoD online if they want to keep it popular
If it's a single fee, it'll still be popular any many kids will pay for it.
Agreed. Kids these days will just throw a mega tantrum until their poor parents buy what ever they need to play the next COD, even if it is a monthly sub fee. Xbox/MS has young kids wrapped around its little finger and its hands in every parents wallet.
@kingkiff just ms? buy me psn+, buy me blu-rays, buy me move, buy me a 3D tv...
Yup, i have a few buddies that I play cod with, and they are always trying to get me to buy those damn map packs they bought them day one. I try to explain to them that they are a complete rip off you get two old maps and 3 new ones wtf they are not worth 15 dollars it BS, but these cod faithful dont care. It's people like them that are going to ruin acceptable pricing for dlc. Activision is smart though, i'm sure they priced them that way just to test the waters and now that they got away with it there's no going back.
Yeeeeea I certainly wont be paying to play a game online after I PAY for it at the store...that is just absurd...and plus there are way more other FPS's to play COD is not the best.
Ok, so its not the best FPS out there, I'm sure most gamers will agree with us here, but it's a good game to have on hand if you have a few friends over and just want to have some good simple fun. A game that you just play every so often like COD is not the sort of game that would fit a subscription model for me. But you can't deny that there are a lot of people who play this game for hours on end day after day.
its not worth it, games like wow, starcraft 2 are
I hate WoW with a passion. Starcraft on the other hand is fucking amazing.
Maybe so but language mate.....
They'd better not charge for online play if it plays anything like MW2 did/does.
meh they can already count me out.
I bough Modern Warfare 1 and Call of duty classic that was enough for me.
Force Activision to comply with your demands. Punish them!
blah blah blah.. personally I am all for activision bashing.. but now is NOT a good time to bring up call of duty and activision as a company, simply because every freaking man and his dog is doing that and these articles are really starting to get old. If you want to get into games journalism, opinions, blogging or whatever the hell it is you want to do, do everyone a favour and write something original.
Man, I know the difference between charging for a product and manipulating someone for a product. If Activision tries to go through with the said rumors, they have no respect for their consumers or loyalist. And they'd treating a once respectable franchise like a drug, that's all I have to say.
Pay $60 for a game so that you can take it home and pay more $$$ to play online??? They had better make sure the single player is up to standards.
1$ for each death you suffer 10 cents for each kill SOUNDS FAIR!
