I feel like Sunshine gets a lot of hate, but it's not a bad game at all. With that said, I did enjoy the Galaxy games much more.

i still thinks its one of the best marios and one of my favorite games. mario sunshine and 4x4evo2 are the reasons why i would ever go back to the gamecube. something about sunshine that was just to fun, welcoming and friendly, the levels were good fun.

Agree with you Posted

I loved Super Mario Sunshine to death. I remember it came out during the summer, and it was beautiful to play. Made me feel like I was on a vacation as a kid..a vacation as Mario!

Best Mario title to date for me. Got it with my Gamecube, loved it.

i agree wit this statement

never understood the hate that surrounded it

ThatArtGuy2764d ago

People didn't hate it, it just wasn't what they were used to. It's similar to the US version of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Adventures of Link. They broke the mold and did something different. While they were bold moves, they weren't exactly the experience that people were looking for in a sequel.

I don't really get these articles to be honest.

All the in-game textures, and polycounts are the same resolutions... so how does this look any different to playing these games on a HDTV, which automatically upscales SD input...

That aside... I'm still not quite sure how these pass off as an article... anyone with any emulator can enhance, the games. I could do this for like 20 GC games right now... seems redundant though...

PS: Best Mario title for me too, by far.

"so how does this look any different to playing these games on a HDTV, which automatically upscales SD input"
It doesn't change the native resolution, though, silly.

Top: HD
Bottom: Upscaled SD
Big difference in detail.

Instead of rendering in 640x480, it renders the game in 1280x720 or 1920x1080. It doesn't make the textures look better but it adds a lot more pixels. It doesn't upscale either which is why it looks so good.
