Game Director explains why MotorStorm Apocalypse won’t support Playstation Move

The game director of MotorStorm Apocalypse, Matt Southern, explains why he and the rest of Evolution Studios decided not to include Playstation Move support in the upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive racing game.

Sounds like a stupid reason to me, Killzone 3 is doing both just fine.

EDIT: Why not? It already supports the Sixaxis, kinda dumb not to upgrade to the Move when your already supporting motion control.

Plus I don't think a racing game wouldn't be too cool with motion controls.

How would that even work? I haven't read the article, but I don't think a racing game would work well. I'd prefer using my good ol' dualshock 3.

... for games that aren't meant to be played with 'move, will probably only harm the general opinion of the pheripheral.

So I'm glad they won't support it. Who wants to play Motorstorm with 2 wands anyway!?

I remember trying to play Motorstorm 1 with the SixAxis. Shit was an exercise in frustration, let me tell you...

The Move option must be there, at some point all Devs will need to make patches for Move anyway, so it's better to implement it now, than months after release

This is not about how good the Move is in this game, the point is to give more choices, there is some kind of misinterpretation here, you don't need just games Only for Move, you need games to play with Move no matter the genre...

Game Director Matt Southern:

"We decided we’d either focus on Move or 3D, and in the end decided that 3D would be a bigger win for us. We’ll still support Sixaxis controls for more ‘haptic’ interaction."

Here is saying they made a choice between Move or 3D and they chose 3D, if they couldn't implement both for whatever reason and they take in consideration the Sixasis, that's OK...

"We’ve had Move controllers in the studio for a while though and they’re fantastic. I’m excited about the idea of family games with decent production values and a bit of depth"

Here, is saying that Move Controllers are Fantastic and then he fell into the same motion-control misinterpretation with "family games" stuff, like if Move could only be applied in that kind of games only -_-

As I said, people will buy Games [for] Move, but at the same time people will buy games to play [with] Move, it's not an "exclusivity" kind of thing...

My guess is because steering a car with a wand would be about as fun as casting spells with a steering wheel.

those were sufficient reasons i suppose. now if they could have portal 2 use the move i would be mindblown.

Sleipnir dont you have "FUN" xbox360 games to play instead of treading on ps3 articles? guess not.

but i'm not too bothered by this. Move really doesn't add anything new to MS:A and there's little point in forcing it in and wasting resources. I'm pretty sure that's what Sony thinks anyway.

Regardless, MS:A is easily one of my most anticipated game for 2011.
