IGN | BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Review

IGN: "My head almost exploded with delight when the original BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger hit store shelves last year. The game featured gorgeous, hand-drawn character sprites, amazing gameplay, and a sweet soundtrack. It also boasted one of the most complex stories that fighting games have ever seen, and plenty of unlockable content to keep gamers happy."

day one buy for me. rebalanced, but still unbalanced in some ways. though you can't perfectly balance fighting games.

Redempteur3015d ago

solid it is ... can't wait ...

Simon_Brezhnev3015d ago

Well i know im getting this the best fighter this generation so far.

Marceles3015d ago (Edited 3015d ago )

yup, day one. Platinumed it and still play it on PS3 and PSP daily

xX-PEIN-Xx3014d ago

yup, its a shame this game doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Its hands down better that SF4/SSF4

NovusTerminus3015d ago

Day one... And the Gamestop here is talking about a tournament as well as a midnight release for it!

xino3015d ago

same thing, same gameplay, same characters
just few extra characters and stages.

And people will pay £39/$49 for this expansion they call full game.

same with every other fighting games.

except there is a brand new story mode , and if you actually played the first one , you know it was a big and extensive mode .

Plus plenty new modes , that you dont have to like , but wich still exists nonetheless .

Add also a major rehaul of gameplay and balance ... but keep crying a river .
If you guys had your way , we yourselves included , would be crying over 5 dlcs , selling at least 15 dollars each , instead of one single cheap disc . And you know it's true , just look at the price of effin' colors or costumes packs .. and imagine for real features or chars

With the great bonus of having a community divide over 6 characters to buy or not buy ...

Same damn old song without much thoughs behind it .

At last , the game is half price like ssf4 , so you are way off till the end

Baka-akaB3015d ago (Edited 3015d ago )

@below , tss damn reply system .

SSF4 deserves it but so do BB CS . But i can't find a reason besides them not being fan of 2d at all , for such a low score .

Not surprised thought , i doubt most fighting games fans await IGN's worthless judgement to begin with

XxBarretxX3015d ago

So you suck at fighting games ehh?

Anyways I think SSF4 and Blazblue: CS were necessary and they they released these games every year or every other. I would buy them.

ChronoJoe3015d ago (Edited 3015d ago )

Engine mechanics are different. Tweaks to moves, etc, balance... new story, new stages, new characters.

If you're not into fighting games, you won't understand it. IGN suck for even suggesting this is considerably worse than SSFIV.

SFIV 9.5 - IGN

BB:CT 9.4 - IGN
BB:CS 8.5 - IGN

The differences, between the two BB games are greater than that of the two SF games. Yet this one is bashed considerably more for being too similar to the original.

I dunno if they overrated SSFIV, or underated BBCS but either way these reviews suggest bias/some some kinda agenda/poor journalism.

Simon_Brezhnev3015d ago

fuck ign i actually had BB:CS on PC is a lot better. BBCS for console actually got a tutorial for noobs

skip2mylou3015d ago (Edited 3015d ago )

sir thats where your wrong it 36.99 on amazon and normal price anyways will be 39.99 should look up prices on something if your gonna try and bash its price

also that could be said about every other game halo, god of war, mass effect, fable, gears of war, socom, street fighter, madden, etc

@chronojoe ssf4 is definitely over rated

Veneno3015d ago

is CS really 50$ US? should cos t no more than $ 30 IMO

Anon73493006d ago

Don't bother he's obviously just an ignorant, hypocritical MW2/Street Fighter fan or a really bad troll that you guys all fell for.

He didn't even get the price right for the game, and he's calling a full sequel an expansion... but not only that he also expect fighting games to completely change their mechanics and play style every release which isn't even possible unless you want 1 completely, horribly unbalanced fighting game every 5 or so years.
