The graphics of Vanquish

Vanquish was originally an open battlefield type of game, where the goal was to move around crushing enemy positions; however, once we got started with development, we quickly made the decision to change to a more linear structure. We abandoned the open battlefield and focused on making each stage as visually dense as possible. As a result, I think the graphics in Vanquish are really quite wonderful. It is one of the main points of Vanquish I want to recommend to people. The only regret is that our decision decreased the amount of times the player uses boosting.

The graphics look great, and the fast paced action looks awesome, but the environments just seem so generic.

Mikami has stated that Casshern was used as the main influence on the visual style, and I don't think that it'll stop with the design of the characters. Once we see more of the complete game in action, we'll start seeing more interesting environments. This guy was behind games with some of the most interesting environmental art design, and I don't think he'll disappoint with the final product.

it's kinda sad dev's havent even figured out attach to wall cover systems suck...straight up manual lean option left or right where u can do it without even attached to a wall is superior..because u can look and shoot into doorway without even attaching to a wall.

I kind of agree with this. Then again, that probably has to do with how long I've been playing SOCOM.
