New Zealand television network TV3's recent ad seems incredibly similar to a PS3 commercial from earlier this year. No wonder it won't be running again.
Whoa there are two Kevin Butlers?
He was just as funny I know enough about acting to know people like Larry David are funny Kevin Butler is a one trick pony who is just an arrogant pompous prick in each video.
No, he wasn't, if you knew anything about acting you'd realize how horrible it was compared to the KB commercials. The smug, arrogant style is what makes him funny. It's the same style they use for the old spice guy.
You know nothing about acting You're a troll. Thats your one talent
It Only Does Inspiration
Lol. Kevin Butler (Jerry Lambert) is graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. You are not even graduated from High School. Jerry have a big history in differents TV shows. Now he is working in the new project called Bad Teacher, working with Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz.
There can only be one!!!!
PlayStation is the most ripped off brand in gaming. TV3 effort is understandable & forgivable unlike Microsoft's Xbox which is a direct rip off of PS2. Memory Cards anyone? Even Nintendo and Sega are guilty. I am glad the guy who made Kevin Butler ads is now CEO of Activision. Now PS3 has a voice in Activision now.
You think Sony invented the console memory card? http://www.neogeoprotos.com... The SEGA Saturn also had a memory card, I don't know when it was released though but given the console life span it had to be in development around or before launch. And the Xbox was in development alongside the PS2, I highly doubt either company knew much about what the other company's new system would do. The Xbox borrowed more from that Dreamcast anyway right down to the controller design since both Microsoft and SEGA were pretty close in terms of development of the Dreamcast. Anti Fanboy Revisionism Force Assemble!
two kevin butlers is like dividing by 0 FFFFFFFFFFFFF-
There aren't. You can watch the TV3 ad here: http://www.youtube.com/watc... It's nowhere near as good as KB's version and seems very lifeless. Even the ending seems like the actor just doesn't know what to do and he just makes the weird pursed lips face for way too long.
wow, they should be ashamed, lol
You guys know he's joking right?...
This is from the New Zealand article which was this article's source: Kevin Butler, the character who fronted the Sony ad, earlier tweeted: "Dear TV3: You could have at least put my photo on top of the amp". F-ing Hilarious!!!
The new slogan for TV3 is "It only shows everything".
So its okay when Sony rips off other people...
Not sure if you are blind but Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony have all copied each other over the years. In Sonys case Move is quite an obvious one.
TV3 = EPIC FAIL
Lol, im surprised at the amount of ignoarance steaming from everyone of you. TV3 makes one muck up, and suddenly NZ is considered evil. How many times has america copied the entire world, stolen ideas, people, inventions, not to mention oil from other countries.
I know what you mean. Now my country is being hated by the Sony fanboys -_- You guys should be thankful we brought you LOTR on the big screen in such glory :P
You cant just rip off others ideas. Get your own or dont bother
There PR excuse was the worst comment Ive seen. Basically, they said that they don't care that they pulled the ad off since they already reaked the benefits. It was more of a pat in the back for there plagiairistic achievements.
I love watching the commercials this guy is in! Even though I don't agree with everything he says and I'm no Sony fanboy, he's still awesome. That has to be the dumbest idea to do a exact copy of him. Seriously do they think they could get away with that? EDIT: Actually I'm wrong they probably were just doing it as a tribute to an awesome commercial. I really don't think they planned on to continue with the copy after that one. If they did though that would be pretty close to lame lol.
getting a taste of their own medicine...as they know all about ripping someone off...(see Wiimote, XBL)...ect
This was bound to happen.
