Hey kids, get out of the ordinary and and into the extraordinary in this new MMO from Sony Online Entertainment.
The game is for PC and PS3, there is a video (no real need for long description), how the heck people report "Bad Editing" and "Wrong Channel"?
So it's not MGS4, but it's free =)
exactly. Shrek meets world of warcraft.
Agreed with both of you. A.Its a big WTF. B.Its really Shrek meets WoW. I think it also has a small portion of Viva Pinata.
looks free alright Marketed towards kids so it might be alright for the kiddies.
wtf anyone know what is this about¿
Personally I'd prefer Home to be expanded to the full MMO-sim but this will do for the time being. Or even better, if World of Warcraft was ported. Actually, since The Agency is coming I'll take the expanded Home instead. Seems like a lot of MMO are coming. Preview: http://uk.videogames.games.... "...What we got to see of the game itself looked fairly promising. SOE says it's targeting both male and female gamers from a wider range of ages than it has with past MMO games. To that end, the company is crafting a lighthearted, whimsical sort of world in which your adventuring will take place..." Again, another brilliant move. Like LBP will reach a broad range of gamers(all ages, genders).
Looks like WoW but way to cartoonie.
not bad...not bad
Looks fun, but I hope it's not too kiddy. and it's free online play - alright!
Seriously WTF ? I think this calls for another magic mushroom discussion.
its ps3 mario world.
I am gonna keep this game away from my ps3...
everything is all about you you you, isn't it? back when SOE were talking about their future products, they were discussing Free Realms, saying that it was a game marketed *TO KIDS, and young girls. i mean, does every single fricking game released have to be marketed to the male demographic? seriously. i love my MGS, and my RE, and Killzones and Mass Effects as much as the next guy, but this market is never truly going to be looked at as a legitimate form of entermainment if it's only catering to *US. are films geared just for males? are books? music? toys? *NO! there is a wide range of media that appeals to *EVERYONE. even *COMIC BOOKS have titles geared towards the young, and the female. of course, there is a misconception that girl gamers only like cute and cuddly (they clearly haven't met my fiancee, who's already beaten Oblivion like, 4 times), and that needs to change, but at least they're *TRYING something new. whatever brings in a wider audience. look at it this way; if it wasn't for the mainstream people being converted to gamers back when the original PS1 released, we probably wouldn't even *HAVE PS3's or 360's(the SNES sold, 60 million units by the end of it's life cycle. the PS1 sold 106 *MILLION units. it grew the market by almost 45%). because of the mainstream capital being brought into the industry, publishers and developers were able to sink more money into bigger and better games, and better gaming technology in general. if the mainstream hadn't bought so many PS2's and X Boxes, there wouldn't *BE a PS3 or 360. there money made the MGS4's and Mass Effect's possible (not that *OUR contributions as hardcore gamers were worthless, but the numbers of games like Spongebob outselling RE4 speak for themselves, really). and this is coming from a primarily male demographic, with a lower percentage of women and children (average age of gamers nowadays is 30. and male). now imagine, if we get more women and children into gaming (primarily women). not only will our games begin to become more diverse (thus bringing in even *MORE people), but the capital it brings in would benefit our industry (possibly no more $60 games? though i doubt it), and it can continue to grow it's technology, while broadening it's cultural reach. games starring more blacks, women, asian's, native american's, latinos, etc. and of different types (think of genre busting games like Indigo Prophecy, Shadow of the Colossus, etc). more risks. new ideas. stop thinking of just you you you. there are plenty of games for the big boys this year and next. no one's horning in on our territory. Free Realms is *NOT FOR YOU, so why trash it?
Good friggin point! I'm glad someone put that into the open.
ya cause a 12 year old girl is going to buy a PS3 to play this
I know its a childish game but come on, the graphics are PS2 quality. (But hey, its free...)
This game to me looks like Sony's online answer to Microsoft's Viva Pinata game, only it looks way better in my opinion.
lol!!!it's good to see sony moving in directions. still i was thinking WTF as i saw this trailer but realized the meaning behind this direction. as for me though i'll take the Agency over this.
it's the first move by sony to get little nintedokids, to their console.
if sony is going to get back to the top they need to target a larger range of gamers, this is a must
its weird. its crazy. looks fun! and free! Also I like the fact that everybody kinda hates it. somehow it makes me love it even more. I can picture myself forcing my friends to watch this game with a sh%tty look on there faces. PRICELESS
Lots of people like kiddy games and games that look like this. Its not all that bad really. It could be great for Sony with a Free MMO game like this it could kick start their younger market of gamers. A 12 year old might not buy something like this, but they may want it and point it out. So yeah it can sell consoles to younger market this way still. If the Parents see child friendly games they are more likely to think about a purchase as well.
